Comment:

Dr. Blair is very passionate at what he does! He is willing to work with students and help outside of class. I would not recommend skipping, as his lectures are loaded with info. Only problem I have is that your grade is dependent on how well you do on exams-not much room for error. Exams are difficult and study guides are insanely long.

Comment:

Dr. Blair has been one of my favorite bio professors at KSU. He makes the material very interesting & you can tell he loves what he is teaching and cares about his students. Attendance was not mandatory but he does do random iclicker questions for extra credit if you attend 80% of class. Also gives old exams for practice. Definitely take w/ him!

Blair is a great professor who is very knowledgeable and passionate about the Biology courses he teaches. He is accessible outside of class and his exams are generally pretty easy. The problem is that there is no homework, so your grade is based on weekly question quizzes and exams with very room for grade boosts. Lectures are interesting but long

Dr. Blair is a great and enthusiastic professor, and you can tell he loves what he does! But you MUST go to class. If you don't, your grade will suffer. Lots of information on exams, so make sure to actually study ahead of time. I love his character, but difficult course to keep up with if you have other difficult courses as well.

Gives obscenely long study guides, none of which are actually on the exams. If you think you're prepared for an exam, you're probably not. They're impossible to pass no matter how much you study the study guide. This is coming from a straight A student.

I thought Ecology would be boring but this class is actually great. Dr. Blair is really compassionate about his studies and shares that in class, I rarely drift off and its easy to pay attention. I actually learned a lot too. Overall great professor!

GO TO CLASS. He explains the slides very well in class and can be hard to do on your own. Tests can be difficult but study the old tests bc he'll use exact questions. Also review sessions were extremely helpful. Final is comprehensive but he does give 10 points of extra credit for attendance and a paper. Overall a great person and professor.

Overall should be 5.0. I don't see how anyone could have anything bad to say about Professor Blair. You can tell he loves what he does. Enthusiastic and funny, easy to talk to, down to earth kind of guy. Makes real life connections in class and is easy to listen to. If you want an A go to class, study slides/old tests and do the extra credit.

Blair is an amazing professor! He makes ecology fun to learn about. He provides multiple extra resources and references for those interested in ecology. Is available outside of class to help students. To top this off he is a quality man, very professional, great sense of humor, friendly, and easy to talk to.

Blair is an awesome professor. Ecology is a subject that does not interest me but Blair was able to keep my attention nearly every day. I highly recommend taking this class with Blair. He will make difficult material easy. He is also a quality person. Easy to talk to, laid back. If I was not pre-med I would definitely get involved with his research

He is a great professor. The content of the class was not very interesting (to me) but he made it go by fast, I never even opened my textbook so I don't recommend buying it. He posts powerpoints, reviews and old exams to study off of. Study those old exams, a lot of the questions are straight from there. Overall great guy!

John Blair is a good professor. The class isn't too difficult you just need to actually show up, pay attention, and study. He posts the lecture powerpoints online. Bring those to take notes because the exams are based on his notes rather than the book.

Though the material can be dry, he is enthusiastic, uses real-life/culturally relevant examples and sometimes humor to help keep your attention or interest. I would recommend going to class, doing the study guides and going over the practice tests. I usually studied a few days before each test but some people needed to study early and often.
