Comment:

A solid choice for INSY electives. There is only 1 test which covers INSY3600 material at the beginning, and then the final, which is a take home case study. The other grades are biweekly 2 page research papers on modern topics and case studies in excel applying econ topics. Attendance not mandatory but recommended. Textbook recommended.

He gave way too many papers for a 1 hour class, made each paper very lengthy, and then gave out maximums of around 95/100 on each paper with no cited reasoning or clear grading criteria. Most papers seemed to not be relevant to the course at hand either. Overall, it was an easy class, but could be taught in a much better way.

Dr. Evans is fair in grading and does not teach from the book. He shares his industrial experience and promotes the practical aspect of learning. He puts in forth the right mindset to be in industries and tunes the students towards more of industry oriented rather than that of academic oriented.

He requires you to write 10 page (single spaced) papers!! Absolutely ridiculous - and he only reads the executive summary - so if you have to take his course write a good exec summary and just BS the rest. He never responds to emails, and is never in his office. He is very disorganized. He doesn't seem to care about the students, only research

This could have been a useful class, but he made it the most useless class I have ever taken. your homeworks are 5-8 page single spaced text. You don't really learn anything in the class except that processes exist to manufacture electronics. there is no emag, thermo, or mechanics in this class. just his opinion without any reasons for his opinion

Requires a lot of work and gives long test. He is fair and is good at explaining course material. Spent years in industry and appears to really know what you need to be successful. He is nice if you try.

I was in the class of 2002. I had Dr. Evans for 3600 and found him to ve hard but fair. Since I have been in industry, I have found that he was very correct about the need for the class. IN addition, I started a 401K per his class. I now have over $90K in the account thanks to him teaching this and learning about investments. THANKS!
