Ive taken this class twice now. For those of you debating taking this class, i would avoid it if possible unless you're an amazing test taker. This class is a good building block, if you can wrap your head around whats going on. No homework, some extra credit (will take TIME). He thrives off of the fact that he knows his tests make your eyes bleed.

John Walrond is my favorite. He is extremely intelligent and a fantastic professor. Don't be fooled though, his tests are extremely difficult and are a test of your critical thinking rather than just simply concepts. (Think MCAT level questions.) If you put in the work for your grade, you'll do fine. I highly recommend taking the recitation.

Why would a professor waste his time teaching a subject when nothing he teaches will be on the actual test? I haven't taken any of the tests yet, just the practice test, 6 times, and have failed every single time. Why? Because none of the material taught in lectures or in the book, or even the exam review is on the practice test. How misleading!

Professor Walrond is the best professor I have ever had. His lectures are always super interesting, and he likes to lighten the mood with a few jokes. That being said his tests were also the hardest I have ever taken. If you do not study you will not pass. Get ready to work your tail off, but kinda enjoy it at the same time. There is extra credit.

GOOD GOD TAKE THE RECITATION. It helps so much with the class and making things make sense. Dr. Walrond is an amazing teacher and always willing to help, although his handwriting can be hard to read and he goes a bit fast. Don't let yourself get behind and put in the work to study and you should do fine.

Hardest class I've ever taken. Exams are extremely complicated compared to the material in lectures. The only advice I can offer is to do all the extra credit as it can be a nice grade boost at the end.

I loved Walrond's visual teaching style, and I found that granted I either went to class or watched the lectures online (taking thorough notes, of course) I got all the information I needed to do well. I didn't like that the syllabus made it seem like you needed the online textbook to complete assignments when it was only for extra credit quizzes.

Makes the class much harder than it needs to be. The tests are nothing like the lectures. Lectures are drawing-based and the tests are paragraph long multiple choice questions.

Dr. Walrond is awesome. I can't explain how insanely smart and funny this guy is. His tests are really hard, but not impossible. I highly recommend taking the recitation. The GTA's are fantastic for this course. Go to the lectures, don't watch them online. If you put work into actually understanding the material and not memorizing, you'll do great.

Worst professor I've ever had. Lectures suck, his handwriting sucks, and tests are brutal. The TA's for this class are awesome, but Walrond SUCKS. He goes way to fast in lectures, his drawings and terms are way to crowded on the board so it's hard to see/copy, his handwriting is awful, and the questions on the tests are impossible.

John Walrond truly seems to know everything. He has in depth knowledge of A&P and teaches in a way that makes everything connect by the end of the unit. His teaching style is slightly different, but rewatching lecture videos is the best way to study to catch everything he says. He only tests on stuff that he mentions in class which is helpful.

Dr. Walrond is a great professor. He has a very visual teaching style, drawing diagrams to walk through concepts. He tells stories, but they actually relate to the content. That's rare. That said, BMS300 is fast, so it helps to watch Youtube (CC Physiology/Armando Hasudungan/Osmosis) before each system. Try new study methods and you will succeed!

Hardest class I ever had. He's nice and knowledgable. Everyone loves him. However, the content is way too overwhelming than necessary. I have never spent this amount of time in one class and ends up with my very first B in this class. The class average was C (there are two sections with 600 students). This class is way too hard than necessary.

One of the best classes I've ever taken. That being said, definitely the hardest class ive taken, but if you put in sincere effort and go to office hours all the time and go to class and neglect your social life and the rest of your classes youll do great!

Dr. Walrond is an acquired taste. Some people love his teaching style, others hate it. Basically, to pass this course, you have to learn how to answer the test questions. His test questions are hard and application based, but you WILL do well if you put in work. That being said, he is a great teacher and a pretty funny guy! Would recommend.

Overall I had a horrible time taking this class. Dr Walrond seems like a really nice guy and he is very knowledgeable, but be warned, his test are nowhere near as nice. If you have a hard time with dense materials over a short period of time, you'll probably flunk. The tests are conceptual and hard. So far there aren't any tips for average students

very tough material, but I think the teacher is very interesting and funny. It takes a second to understand his teaching style, and he has very hard tests but he expects people tout in a lot of effort outside of the lecture material. overall I loved him as a teacher!

Horrible teaching style and tests are impossible to pass. Reported students cheating and he did nothing about it even though the test curve is based on how well people did. He monopolizes the course, one should not have to take a 4 credit class, on top of another 6 credits of restitution just to barely pass. He prides himself on hard tests.

Great teacher! Hard class! Be present or watch the lecture videos in order to retain information. He writes on the board and has no slides so make such to take good notes. Overall a great class and Walrond is SUPER knowledgeable.
