Took him for two classes. He's accessible outside of class, and is very open when accessible. He's strict for when he is accessible in that he will only answer emails during business hours. He leans very much to the left, but what professor doesn't. If you look past that and participate effectively you'll get a very solid grade.

Incredible professor and human being. The only thing that prevented me from getting an A was the fact that he mandates attendance. Other than that, he's very passionate and knowledgable about his field and he is also hilarious which is a plus. Just come to class and read, easy A.

Professor Cruz is a nice guy, but he is incredibly vague with his expectations and a harsh grader. His class is pretty monotonous and low energy. I was really excited to take his class but wouldn't have if I knew it was going to be like this.

He's nice but his grading criteria is weird, 96 for an A and 44 for a D-. He also won't respond to e-mails sent after 5 PM , before 9 AM and anytime on the weekends.

I took Urban Government. 12 quizzes (lowest two dropped), 2 essays at beginning of semester, 5 page research paper at end of semester. 2 presentations on chapters read in class through the semester for a grade. Overall, the class was EASY. As long as you read the required readings the quizzes go well and he just talks. Easy A if you read.

This Professor is TERRIBLE. He may be a decent individual, but as a teacher he leaves much to be desired. The class consists of 10 quizzes, T or F 10 questions. You will NOT get an A in this course. the TF are tick questions, and people generally get 8's. If you are an A student, AVOID HIM. You will absorb NOTHING.

This professor is so cute, and funny. He has a Spanish accent, but he speaks very clearly and is easy to understand. As a professor, he is great. The only reason why the course is boring is because it's American Politics - it's what we've been taught since we were in 4th Grade... but it's a good Gen Ed. filler and required for Poli. Sci. Maj/Min

Jose is absolutely adorable, and you can tell he really tries to lecture well during class. His accent is a little troubling for most, so if you think that's going to be an issue I'd sit in the front. The course itself is easy - everything is in the book, though some clearer examples are given in lecture. Based on quizzes, some papers, and a final.

He's a nice guy, everyone needs to stop whining and complaining, it's college not highschool. He does have an accent, but it's not bad at all. He's a good teacher, knows what he's talking about, demands ALOT from his students. So, if you are lazy and know you don't go to class alot, don't take it. horrible professor. makes you watch a 2 hour movie an entire class does not give lectures.. but will assign 80 pages of reading and have a quiz with question with the smallest detail that are not important. I'm not sure exactly how this man got his job. His class was filled with promise, and I was genuinely excited to take it, but had no direction or point. The readings were entirely unrelated to the lectures and the lectures were odd and random.
