Costa was one of my all-time favorite profs. He was truly interesting and I loved his class. I can't wait to go to Italy someday and compare my own experiences to his. An inspiring and wonderful class to experience. He will be missed!

What a great professor! This was my favorite class and favorite professor this semester. He keeps class extremely interesting; I don't think I've ever laughed so much in a class. The class is really easy, but you learn a lot. Too bad he's retiring!

I LOVE Costa!!!!!!! He has such a passion for what he teaches and he has a great sense of humor. He is straight forward and has easy tests. He really just wants his students to love art. Best professor I've had by far!

AMAZING!!! even if you have no interest in art, you will want him as a teacher. GREAT class, tells you what will be on tests, writes the notes for you, very low effort, all tests MC. great guy with great stories. try to get him! HIGHLY recommend.

AWESOME PROFESSOR, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND COSTA. his class is not only easy but interesting. i didnt care an ounce about art before, but now it is semi-enjoyable going to class. his enthusiasm about art is contagious. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Costa is an awesome professor -- he focuses less on quizzes and tests and more on what's really important: learning to appreciate art! He weaves his lessons with real-life experience which makes learning the subject more meaningful and easier to remember. This class is definitely worth your time!

My favorite teacher so far, he is so much fun. I highly recommend taking one of his classes. History of Photography is not the most interesting class if you don't like photography, but I still liked going to the class. For those who say he's on a power trip, I really don't see that. He is a wealth of knowledge and really enjoyed his class!

Costa is a wonderful prof! Tries to make sure the students are involved, very very easy grading and teaching style. No homework, only studying for 4 tests and a final. Lets you know almost exact questions that are on the tests too.

Costa is a little italian man, and although he is in his final few semesters of teaching, his passion for teaching has not diminished! Only 4 tests, and a final. He always goes off on tangents and tells funny stories, which keep u awake even at 8am. Shares his photography with his students. great guy!

Costa once said he couldn't live without his students; and this definately shows his committment to them. In addition to his hilarious mini stories and little jokes, he is an outstanding teacher who incorporates the "real world" into his lectures. TAKE ART 105 with Joe Costa, it is essential and FUN.

Costa is awesome! It is a shame not every UWEC prof is as good as him. The course is great and can be very simple if you put in the effort. Not only does Costa teach about art in his lectures he also works in a lot about life. He is extremely enthusiastic and comical. 4 tests, final, no hmwrk or reading.
