A lot of these comments write that he grades too hard; however, from how I see the class, most people don't know how to give good speeches. Clarity, hand movement, positioning and eye contact is all he looks at. Anyways, other then the speech every 3 weeks, you'll just listen to his stories.

Fantastic professor! I loved his classes and he really teaches you alot. You can get him to go off on a tangent if you want to postpone a speech by asking lots of questions on speech day. He also give you like 40 extra credit points at the end of the semester for attendance.

Im am taking this teacher as we speak. This class is very helpful in the fact that he makes you feel comfortable going up there and giving your 5-7 minute speech, or was it 5-10..i forget. Today we just did the interview speech and it was very fun. I Highly recommend this teacher for all speech beginners. He is retiring though. srry

Probst is sooo funny. He has the best default facial expressions and he always shares his bureaucracy stories with the class. He does tell many stories but they are very entertaining for the most part. Just do all of your speeches and be careful not to miss quotes or anything and you'll ace the class. We only needed the book for the final. A+++

So basically you have no need for the textbook until the final(Which was a take home test) He is a retired veteran and has a lot of war stories to tell you haha.
