Comment:

Dr. Henkins was a great asset in improving my paragraphs and sentence structure. This class may be hard for ESL students, but great for those who need a skills review. I recommend to take ENG 64-66 before jumping to advanced ENG courses. Took them all and I would say I am pleased and learned a than from my regular ENG classes!

Had a horrible experience with this professor. She grades harshly and is very intimidating. Even though she offers help, she doesn't smile and seems angry all the time. Not approachable.. Forced to drop this course with a W on my transcript.. but got an A with another professor. Not recommended.

I completed all higher level writing courses with straight A's and been accepted to UCLA, yet this teacher felt that my papers were only worthy of C's. When I asked her what was wrong, she said my words were too advanced and my sentence structure was too complex. I still do not understand why I was penalized for writing effectively- NEVER AGAIN!!!

the comments about her being unfair are sadly very accurate. i really tried to like her, but it's difficult. i am normally a excellent student but have been struggling in her class. there is no room for error in her class. she is disorganized. how can she hold us accountable when she doesn't know what's going herself?

Although she taught educational discrimination in the class, she was the most unreliable English teacher at MtSAC because she gave credit for who turned homework and leave early in the class. Besides, her grading was extremely hard and unfair! Don't recommend her!

She seemed nice at beginning, but she turned out so mean to student. Her lecture was meaningless because she did not explain what was the point of session.The most horrible thing:her grading was extremely unfair and hard. I got minor issue with thesis statement on mid-term, and then she gave me a D, although I asked tutor for correct all my errors

I just finished this class in the Spring. Theres a lot of writing, but my writing improved a lot. She requires a lot of reading to be used in the papers, but the readings mostly are given to u. U don't have to find them.
