Comment:

Dr. K is amazing. Perception was my favorite class. She expects a lot out of you, but she also gives you a lot of help and is a great teacher. The material is amazing and she is very passionate about it. Her tests are not easy! But if you take good notes, ask questions and don't skip class then you will be fine! Got an A with some effort.

Comment:

Dr. K is a fantastic professor. She is clearly knowledgeable and passionate about the subject and gives engaging, sometimes entertaining lectures. She makes cognitive science accessible to those who know nothing about it. That said, the class wasn't easy, and readings were somewhat difficult to understand. You MUST study for exams to do well.

Comment:

Best psychology professor hands down. Her passion for the material is evident. She's extremely kind and makes the material easy to relate to. Take good notes. Make sure you remember the online quizzes and assignments. I've had her before and if I could have her for every class, I would! She does take attendance.

Comment:

Dr. K is the best psychology professor I have had at NIU. She knows how to teach, and she does it well. Her PPTs aren't full of clutter, and she uses real world examples, videos, and demos to teach concepts. There are reading quizzes, but you have multiple attempts and they are not difficult. There are 4 tests and a poster project at the end.

Comment:

Dr. K is a great professor, very willing to help. Knows what she's talking about & explains it in a clear way. The lecture grade was 4 exams & a group presentation which was based off the research paper we did in the lab. Lab had little assignments, mostly focused on doing the research for the final paper. Just do your work/study, you'll be fine.

Dr. K uses so many supplementary learning tools like demos and videos. She is great at breaking down the material and making it easy to understand. There is one big project where you make a poster and write your term paper on a scientific article. I learned a great deal about cognitive psych and how to handle scientific reading/writing.

By far one my most favorite teachers, she was very funny and made lectures much more enjoyable. She does her best to relate with students so that everyone understands the material. The tests are easy, but you will need to read to keep up with her. She does assignments which involve presentations, but theyre very easy if you know what youre doing.

At first glance, this class seems to be a lot of work. This class is definitely not for someone that wants to slack off and just pass, but I highly recommend this class for anyone that is motivated to learn. I've learned more in her class than any other Psych class I've taken. She also truly cares about her students .

Loved her class! Still remember much of what she taught. Super nice and helpful! She proof read my paper and let me take an exam early. If you put the work in, you will get an A. There are no trick questions ever, and she even let's you explain your answers (optional) under each question on an exam for partial credit if it's wrong! Wonderful prof!

She is very knowledgeable and loves what she does, that's clear. The content of the class was moderately difficult, but she definitely made it easier. She takes the time during the lectures to make sure everyone understands. I liked her, she was very nice!

Comment:

She clearly loves what she does. However, this class is a RIDICULOUS amount of work. The syllabus with all different kinds of assignments posted in different places was confusing and unorganized. She is a super nice lady but I would not want to take another class with her. The TA for lab was awesome, though, and helped a LOT with lab papers.

Dr. K was a great professor! She is very clear with her lectures, like to make class fun, and she curves all tests and occassionally offers extra credit. I enjoyed her class and would recommend her to other students!

Comment:

Very, very, very difficult professor. Complicated papers are due each week, and she likes to teach and test on complicated topics like brain imaging and quantum physics in psychology. I do not recommend her. She is VERY difficult!

She is wonderful!! She made a somewhat difficult class very interesting and pretty simple. There are a lot of tests, but there are only about 8 question per test. Its a great method! I highly reccomend this class. She is great!

She is an excellent teacher. It is a very interesting class. She is very enthusiastic about what she is teaching. She makes it even more interesting. She has you do summaries on the readies that are assigned. But, it helps because it keeps you on track with the readings and she can make sure that you understand the material. EXCELLENT TEACHER!

Dr. K is amazing. I went to her several times outside of class to ask her questions about the reading and she was able to answer every single one of them. She's very intelligent and an amazing teacher. Definitely go to class because some of the questions on the exams are based off of in-class assignments. Tests are m.c but you can choose 40 of 45

Katja is amazingly:talented, knowledgeable, and available. I have done three semesters of I.S. with her, and all the time, like said before, she wants you to LEARN, not necessarily memorize or whatnot. She's always available and will try numerous ways to help you learn. I recommend taking any class offered by her; I've taken three. She's great.
