I found his lecture style difficult to follow. I thought I wanted to be a biology major until I took his class. If you focus and work really hard on everything, you'll probably do fine, but if you have a harder class to worry about, it's hard to keep up. He's an amazing person, but I wouldn't want to take another class of his out of fear of a B.

This was my first time doing research, I worked with Keith on his squirrel study. It was a lot of work, definitely not what I was expecting. I thought I was just going to do work assigned to me, but I had to help him come up with a whole research proposal which was definitely pretty hard. I loved being able to do research though!

One of the best bio professors. His class is so much fun, and he is super approachable and willing to help students. I kind of regret that I took his class in the last semester. If I had chance I would definitely take more classes with him.

Keith is a goofy man. He knows how to make lectures interesting. I love how he makes you try to figure out things first before explaining you a mechanism/process--that's what science is. Review lecture slides thoroughly, read textbook, go to his OH and this class will be easy for you. Everyone loves him and I'm confident you will too.

Keith is just an amazing Bio professor! I wish all of my bio classes can be taught by him! I took bio100 this semester. In the class he is always so patient and clear and also honest about things he doesn't know for sure. Highly recommended class even for non-major college/conservatory students. (Sometimes he got confused by himself but that's okay

Keith is a wonderful person and a great professor. He spent hours with me in office hours explaining concepts, and always followed up and asked if I needed more resources. He gave stretch breaks in the middle of lectures, and organized concepts in a clear and concise way. Although the quizzes were difficult, I really understood biology by the end.

THIS MAN IS THE SWEETEST/MOST GOOD/GENUINE PERSON ON THE PLANT. He loves biology so much and teaches so clearly and is so open to explain things. He does little dances sometimes to explain ideas. His office hours are so helpful and he is so generous with his time.

Keith's freshman seminar is awesome. The class will give you a gentle introduction to evolutionary biology. He has a kind, chill personality, and is great at guiding the discussions. There is a fair amount of writing but it's very straightforward. One of the best teachers I've had.

Awesome advisor for freshmen even if not a bio major. Really great at guiding discussion (But why let students guide them?!) Picks great books to read, interesting essays and projects to complete. However, no cool class parties or field trips or art projects or other freshman seminar-y things, which is a plus or minus depending on your outlook.

Keith is my boy. He is the best "teacher" I have ever had in my life. He makes learning easy and fun in his FYSP Selfishness or Altruism. He loves meeting with you and will schedule you outside of office hours and act as if you are the only kid in the world that matters and he will stop at nothing to help you solve the problem. Thanks Keith!

Keith is seriously a good guy. He really knows his stuff, he communicated his knowledge and enthusiasm well to the class, and just generally made studying Evolution with him one of the most interesting and enjoyable experiences of my time at Oberlin. His exams are challenging, but the material is so interesting it almost makes studying fun. Hot

Keith is a wonderful professor/advisor/human being. Our seminar was completely discussion based, and Keith has a fantastic capacity for making one reevaluate or at least rethink one's position on an issue (in a good way). He is also super nice and SUPER approachable both as a professor and advisor.

Tarvin in a great professor. Very helpful inside & outside of class. Very clear and interesting lecturer. Also very willing to work with students if they have a problem. Workload is reasonable although a lot of things tend to be due at once. I HIGHLY reccommend taking a class with him.
