Prof Becker is a really great professor. He comes off intimidating, but do not take it personally. He loves participation--ask questions and GO to his office hours!! If you write your papers early he will read them and correct them and you will get an A! If you are a serious student, prof Becker is awesome.

This guy has great lectures and cares about cross talk between topic, but if noone asks questions he'll curse and threaten quizzes. He gives take home tests and topic research papers, so all the grading is out of class. If you take good notes, you'll get alot of the material he'l ask of and receive As or Bs. The final he will screw you on grading.

Gives a lot of pop quizzes because no one shows up. Quizzes are sometimes on one minute detail from a lecture a couple days back. A good lecturer but will sometimes interrupt students who are trying to make a point. Just comes off as condescending. Anyone who has gone to see him/his TA's in office hours said it didn't really help them.

Professor Becker is a good teacher, for soft science majors. see the thing is that if you are in a hard science looking for an easy grade, you'll get it but, you're going to be bored of your mind or irritated by some of the stupid discussions that happen in class. the whole discussion is class driven so if no one read then prepare for a bad time.

I have a great respect for Mr. Becker. He expects you to come to class and participate in discussions. He can't take roll because the class is HUGE. His lectures helped me to understand the material and what helped me to get an A in this class. He does give pop quizzes, but throws out the lowest grade. I would definitely take his class again.

Kelly is an insightful instructor for symbolic logic. The material itself is pretty daunting, but Kelly made the material easier for me to understand. He's especially more helpful in office hours. He's s also pretty funny, and charismatic. Overall, he's one of the best instructors I've had this semester.

Comment:
The subject material is difficult, but Kelly explains very well. Not a huge amount of homework (mostly reading), but Definitely read each paper before going to class - you will get much more out of the class. Easily one of the best professors at UNM, and it's not close. I would not hesitate to take any class he taught. Truly excellent.

Hands down one of the best educators at UNM. Subject material was tough, but his knowledge, wit, and passion made the lectures enjoyable and enlightening. If you're looking for easy, he is not the professor for you. If your looking for an education, you cannot do much better.

Dr. Becker is an extremely talented professor. He has an absolute gift for clarity--which is essential in higher-level philosophy courses--and is even secretly funny. I would recommend him to anyone interested in the subject.

This subject is a difficult subject to grasp, the lectures are usually long and boring and Becker usually makes sure you understand it. Easy enough to pass, but hard to grasp.. 4 papers total, not too bad but it was difficult for me /: He's an ok instructor.. not the greatest.....

I loved this class! Becker is one of the funniest professors i've ever had in four years. He's really enthusiastic and helpful if you don't understand something. No in class tests. Just two short papers and two take home tests. Pretty easy class and really interesting

Interesting class. Becker is very energetic and hilarious at times. I had some difficulty understanding every concept because I couldn't follow his thought process. However, he would wait untill people asked questions, and would explain them in several ways to try and get people to understand. I would recommend him!

I love his teaching style, but could not grasp the subject matter very well. VERY DIFFICULT CLASS. He is terrific & begs for students to ask for help. He and his TA's will bend over backwards to help you, so go see them or email. Class had 5 in class quizzes, usually a one word answer or t/f. One in class exam/One take home final. Phil 101
