Dr. Pybas is a tough professor but fair. He will push you to understand the material rather than just have it memorized. He loves to engage in discussion and is very responsive and helpful for questions in and outside of class time. Not an easy class but you will learn a lot.

I WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS SLANDER ON KEVIN PYBAS! Pybas is a great prof for getting the gen ed requirement of PLS 101 out of the way. He is very passionate about the work he does. As long as you go to class, take notes, and ask questions, you will do fine! He also will drop your lowest test score if you miss less than 3 or 4 day. Highly recommend.

You can tell he is extremely knowledgeable over the subject, however, he is extremely monotone and doesn't repeat himself when giving important information. Try to sit near the front because he is quiet and has a low voice. I recommend taking a different political science teacher if you know this would be a tough subject for you.

Dr. Pybus is my absolute FAVORITE professor I have ever had. I am a political science major and he makes the information so clear. In lecture he makes sure to answer any questions students may have and voice his opinion while also respecting the opposing side of his.

I'm taking his Constitutional Law I class and I have to say it's enjoyable. Most of the class is discussion, so you have to read the cases before you go into class to be able to understand everything, but he makes sure that everyone understands the material before you leave. My only complaint is he tells you the week of if you have a quiz.

Everyone's saying this dude is hard in his intro level class. I say they're wrong. Fall 2018 we had 3 tests and a final. If you missed fewer than 4 days, he'd drop your lowest test grade. He answers every single question, even if it's "stupid." Before every test, he gives a great study guide. Pair that with the online homework and you'll pass.

He is a really nice person and I enjoyed some of the topics he covered. Overall tough class. You need to study very hard for the tests and make sure you show up. He will drop your lowest test grade if you don't miss more than 4 class periods. That helped me bump my grade because I needed it. He will also often go off topic.

You have to go to class and take detailed notes if you want to get an A, but it definitely isn't impossible. The lectures can get boring, but Pybas is a very intelligent teacher that has extensive knowledge on the topics discussed. His study guides have everything you need for the test, just make sure to review the textbook vocab.

He is monotone, but honestly he is a very good professor. He knows what he is talking about. Yes 96% of your grade comes from your tests, BUT if you show up to class and take notes you will have exactly what you need to study, plus if you don't miss more than a couple of classes then he'll drop the lowest test score. Honestly it's worth it.

While he is pretty monotone, he's hilarious and interesting to listen to. If you answer/ask questions he'll like you but otherwise he wont bug you. As long as you go to all the lectures, actually pay attention, and take good notes this class shouldn't be too hard. 96% of the grade is tests so if you don't do the assignments your totally fine.

The tests were worth 96% of your grade so if you didn't do good on the tests you won't have a good grade in the class. He's also very monotone so it is hard to pay attention in the class if you aren't a fan of history.

Honestly I dont understand the bad reviews on here. Dr. Pybas cares a lot about his students and their understanding of the subject matter and it really shows. Obviously if you don't do the assigned reading and study you're not going to do well, but its a college course. I had to miss a test and he was super accommodating, I'd highly recommend him.

Dr. Pybas is one of the best professors I have ever had, not to mention a great pre-law advisor. You must do the reading to prepare for class. He is extremely knowledgeable and that shows in his lectures. He is extremely accessible and more than willing to offer help or advice. If you are struggling at all, take the initiative to ask for help!

Pybas is so scattered brained during his lectures because he will jump back and forth between ideas. Don't buy the book, it's a complete waste of money because the stuff he tells you to read, he summarizes in class. You'll do roughly 15 100 point assignments that are 80+ questions each and it is only worth 4% of your grade. Avoid taking him.

Grade is made up of 4 tests (each test worth 24% of grade) and online reading assignments for each chapter (only worth 4% of grade) Very hard to follow his lectures, he's kind of all over the place, very monotone. Tests seemed difficult for gen ed class. If you miss less than 4 class periods he'll drop your lowest test score. Nice guy just bad prof

He's a really easy professor if you come to class and take notes. The homework is weekly, online, and out of the text book but it's nothing too difficult or time consuming. He's a really easy professor for PLS 101 and he doesn't go on any political rants and remains very unbiased in his lectures. Recommend for those who need the class for Gen Ed.
