Dr. Farris is the best teacher that I've had at WVU thus far. She is so down to Earth and very knowledgeable. If you study and attend class the tests aren't that difficult. They are all fill in the blank, essay-style questions, and some multiple choices and she always makes extra credit available. I would take her class again!

Dr. Farris was able to keep a dry zoology class decently interesting. She was generous with partial credit on exams and all material on the exams was covered in class (no material from outside sources). She was enjoyable and fair and I would gladly take her again!

Overall an interesting class. At times the material is tricky but Dr. Farris finds a way to explain it in an interesting way. If you go to class and pay attention the exams are pretty easy

Awesome professor. Ive had Dr Farris for developmental and neuro biology and Its clear in both classes that she is very interested in what she teaches and that is shown in the great lectures and slides to go with them. Tests are difficult and comprehensive but also very fair, the lectures give you all you need to know. A Must take if your into bio!

Great prof. who's fun and interesting. She is really into the material. She includes interesting subject matter in lectures. Tests are based solely on lecture and notes. There are 3 exams, 4 quizes and a final term paper. Tests not hard. Attendance is not mandatory and all power point notes are put on ecampus. Strongly recommend taking this class.

Horrible class in general. She cannot explain the material. Her lecture was pointless and the tests were impossible but the bright side is that almost everyone got an "A" with an average test score of 68%. This class is a joke, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Wow, she is something. She really got on my nerves at the beginning and surprised me with all of her tattoos at the end. She was boring and so was the material, but the tests weren't too bad.

Of the three biology teachers, Dr. Farris was by far the most effective and interesting. She seemed to really enjoy what she was teaching. I actually looked forward to her lectures. I feel she connects well with her students (as much as one can in a classroom w/ 250+) Test questions are straightforward. Learn the slides and go to class!

She was terrible. Extremely hard to understand and stay awake. Goes way too fast, hard to ask questions. She knows her subject, but can't teach at all. Slides werenever available before the class. Uses small print, which makes it hard to read and keep up with her. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!

People really get onto Farris' case more than necessary. She was easy! Everything was straight memorization from notes and some from the book. Her drawback was that she was very monotone in lecture. She came off as boring as all hell, but she's helpful outside of class and has really easy tests if you memorize her lecture notes.

Dr. Farris focuses on exactly what she is teaching you in lecture. Her test questions are very similar to the review questions in the back of each chapter. She also reuses test questions for the final. She is very friendly and passionate about what she is teaching.

Dr. Farris was the easiest of the bio 115 teachers. Her tests emphasize the material she covers in lectures, so study the lecture slides. The material is fairly easy - it only requires that you read and memorize key ideas and terms. She gives extra credit for attendance, so go to class. Tests are easier than most if you study.
