She is very monotone. You are only graded by 4 tests all semester. You do NOT need the book. But since you can barley understand what she is saying reading the book helps. The book is actually an easy read. There are 2 reasons I passed. One is the SI sessions and two is going back and looking at notes/book. Stopped going to class 1/2 way thru.

I think this class gets a bad wrap. I really enjoyed it. I think she was completely fair (and then some) with her tests. It was definitely one of the harder classes in the program, but not unreasonable. Shes also super sweet.

Economics is a hard course and she makes it even harder by not posting her lecture notes on BlackBoard. Her notes are pre-written from 1959 after WWII. Shes a great loving person but she need to modernize herself. Love you Dr. Truett

She has all her notes prewritten before class, and then talks about other things you need to know while you are frantically copying down her notes. She speaks very quietly and rushes through everything even though the class is about 200 people. Unclear about what you need to know for the tests, and does not give a lot of help. Would not recommend.

Teacher uses notes probably written 10 years ago, has you frantically right them down and talks while you are writing them down. You either listen to her lecture or don't take the notes

Terrible professor, she throws up notes in class from probably 5 years ago, tons of grammar issues. Then she talks over the notes while you are writing them down. You either take the notes, and not listen to the lecture. or vice versa. Would never take again or recommend

Took Prof Truett for ECON 5023. One of the hardest classes in the major. She only writes on the projector and you are frantically taking notes for 3 hours. She doesn't stop and explain many of the things you are writing down. Grade is based on only 3 tests, first test is real rough. She is very helpful and nice when you ask her for questions.

I took her in the fall. Her classes are like some lengthy business conference, she is very fast paced to the point to the point that i can't remember one day where she is told at least 4 times during class to slow down, and she congests so much material in 75 minutes. Mostly everything on the review was not on the test, I have to retake the course.

Gives two opportunities for extra credit which can really help your grade if youre struggling. She pre writes her notes before class and has you copy them while she talks so either you listen to her or write down her notes because its almost impossible to do both. Very nice lady but teaches extremely fast and is hard to keep up with at times.

Very knowledgable and sweet professor and helpful outside of class but I basically taught myself everything off Youtube. Grades are based on 4 exams and some extra credit. Basically she writes notes on a projector at an extremely fast pace for the entire class period. (Very boring) Had I known I would have rather taken the class online.

Best professor I've had at UTSA. Tough grader - makes you earn it. I appreciate that. The class is tough for those (like me) who don't have a math background at all, but she's willing to help. Take good notes, do the homework, read the book - you'll be just fine. You'll learn a lot and appreciate Dr. Truett for the process.

Lectures are long and cover a lot of material. The math is never harder than very basic calculus (derivatives) and some algebra. Dr. Truett works through examples just like the ones on the exam so missing class is a very bad idea. If you pay attention, the material is not that hard - the one day a week format just makes for a very long 3 hours.

Lectures are fast and scary with lots of math, but tests were somewhat easy, just regurgitate what she writes on board. Has sample exams in library that are helpful. Very nice and helpful lady. Would recommend!!!

Grade based on only three exams. The first exam wasn't until halfway into the semester! Lots of info to study and stressful to prepare for. Professor does not use WebCT, which is rather frustrating. She lectures continuously (fast & furiously) for the 1st hr and 38-ish minutes, allows a 7 min break and then completes the remaining 45 mins. Brutal.

Professor Truett is a very intelligent person who really understands what she's teaching. If you really want to learn the material, take her class. She gives you most of what you need to study by in her lectures. I only had to look at my book for clarification on some things. I think most people who gave her bad scores wanted an easier class.

Dr. Truet is a very intellegent professor, she knows her stuff. Material is straight forward not tricky, just need to study. She also has exams from the 1960's reserved that are similar to her exams...very helpful.

Writes and goes a billion miles an hour...Don't even think about understanding or asking questions. Basically, you're just going to go to class write a crapload of notes and then go figure it out on your own. Which is not good instructing if you ask me.
