Comment:

Professor Gomez was a nice guy, but he only lectured straight from the book and was very hard to understand with his thick accent. 7 tests (1 gets dropped). Wasn't helpful when asked for help on tests that he pulls from the publisher's packet. If I didn't get a B in the class it would have been a waste of 18 weeks.

Comment:

Exams are based off the textbook, lot of reading. Half of the exams were open book and he tells you which ones are. Extra credit assignments and points are given if you just show up. Caring professor, wants his students to do well. Lectures can be kinda slow and boring sometimes. Show up, take notes, and READ and its an easy A.

Comment:

Nice guy, interesting class. HEAVY textbook use and frequent tests. EC offered for attendance. Not-so-subtly shares his political views but encourages civil debate amongst students as well. Doesn't use Canvas, cursive can be hard to read in small writing, moves FAST! during lecture - you'll want to take a picture. Calls on students randomly.

Comment:

This class is heavily based on the book, you must read before lecture to understand what's going on or what he's even talking about. He explains some stuff but most of it he expects you to know from the reading. The tests are all scan-tron, 7 of them in total with like 3 open book/ notes. His lecture can also be very hard to learn from.

With a heavy accent he's not the best professor to explain things, but with the two mandatory books you'll pass the class. If you're the type that doesn't like reading, don't take this course with him since the tests are all based off the textbooks. And no you will not pass by just skimming through the texts either. Reading is key!

My class was supposed to have a different teacher but Mr. Gomez filled in. Hes a very sweet man who knows what hes talking about! Half the tests and the final are open book and he gives a TON of extra credit. Your participation points are based on attendance. And you need the book if you want them for the test. I would recommend him!

Unreadable notes on the board. 5 scan tron tests, 3 are open book. He gives tons of opportunities for extra credit which is what saved my grade. You will need to read the entire textbook in order to get and A in the class.

Professor Gomez gives many opportunities for students to do well in his class. There is a lot of extra credit available, some for even just showing up. His lectures aren't the most exciting but a lot of his texts are open book and open note. Would take again!

Lectures pretty much consist of the book content, just spit out in a very unorganized way and very all over the place. He likes to put students on the spot by pointing on students to answer practice questions and making you feel bad for not knowing the answer. Just read the book and you'll get an A. Show up to class because he gives EC for good it

basis of the class (summer course MO3): You read a chapter the day before class (usually 30-45 pages in length) You show up to class on time and he lectures on the chapter you read (I suggest taking notes during this time-will be on test) He asks questions about the chapter and you test based on the reading and his lecture. Easy to follow.

Not sure why Prof. Gomez gets a bad rep. He was more than generous with extra credit opportunities and will work with you as long as you have a genuine desire to pass and read the text book a little. I found him to be extremely passionate about the material and he actually knows what he's talking about. No final, only exams, worst 3 get dropped!

I don't even know where to start. Study materials he gives are useless for the tests, you have to have that textbook memorized for an A. He purposely tries to trick you in his exam questions. I fought to stay awake most of the time during lectures. He lectured on chapters the same day as the exam. Definitely doesn't give you the tools to get an A.

This is what his M03 class consists of: Lectures that are all over the place and unimportant for the test, mandatory attendance to these lectures, in class discussions that turn into an hour of students yelling over Trump, then you go home and rely entirely on the two textbooks to study to pass. An A is possible through the books alone.

yeah man horrible class i mean you can sit there for 2hrs and the majority of the times he's talking, you don't really take notes. its boring and doesn't teach. Tests are hard. i wish i could say something good about this professor

I attended his class in spring of 2016. One day he claimed that if Donald Trump were to become the republican candidate, he would have no chance of winning the election. Gomez said he'd bet his CAREER on it. In front of the whole class. Well Trump won. This man still continues to teach there as a lazy professor. Horrible professor. Still got an A.

Not a good teacher, he all over the place. Dosent give you study guide ... Honestly boring class. He talks to you like a child. Tests are a joke noting he teaches are on their you literally have to read every singe page in both books. Overall never take him don't do this to yourself ok I'll see y'all in the next review! Although he is a nice guy and knows the subject hes talking about he can tend to get very preachy and sunds like hes trying to persuade to have liberal views, and after a while it gets annoying.

I like him but,He is very strict and he calls on students A LOT. He gets irritated when students don't know the answer and makes you feel bad for it. I feel he thinks everyone has prior knowledge on the subject and when he says it once he believes we should remember it forever. There's a lot of reading. If you don't read the book you won't pass.

He is the worst professor I have ever had, his test questions are very tricky. Tests every other week. He calls on students during the entire class period and the picks on them if they do not know the answer. If you must take him then be sure to read before class and study because he will call you out in a heart beat.

Awesome & Funny! Interesting and thorough lectures. Bottomless well of knowledge. Delivers info that's a "must-have" in order to be a well-informed, intelligent member of society, so take class even if politics is not your thing. You will learn TONS. Lenient grader - but you MUST show up, participate and do the reading. Gives EC -take him!
