First darkroom class. Wants to see his students reach their full potential! Talk before turning the projects in, that way there's no surprises. Buy supplies in advance to prevent delays. VERY time consuming course. Luckily schedule was light enough. Can be frustrating at times, but what would we learn if everything came easy? $$$$ EXPENSIVE COURSE

Do not take this class unless you have the time and money for it. This class is extremely time consuming. However, Rob is a cool professor. He is pretty laid back and chilled. If you have the time to follow through his assignments, as well as the money, take his class. If you do every assignment and the final you will pass. Do not buy the book

He is my favorite teacher of all time. He had really opened up my eyes to why I love photography. If you love what you're doing and try your hardest, he will give you the best respect. He is also the most intelligent man I have ever spoken to. Asking about my final project, he gave answers with deep metaphors. Best professor EVER.

Rob is a great guy. The class is expensive and time consuming. The class itself was really cool. The one thing I absolutely hate is critiques. Yes I understand some people think they're helpful, but the last thing I want is people trashing on my work at 8 am before all my other classes. It just puts me in a bad mood for the rest of the day.

Had him for photo 2 and view camera. In photo 2 I asked him to look at my photos before the assignment was do and he said they were fine. YEA RIGHT!!! He embarrassed me in front of the whole class and said they looked like snap shots. I wanted to cry! By the end of the term I wanted to prove that I can do better than "snap shots" and I got an A!!

He's a really good professor. I learned so much from him and he really showed me a new way of taking pictures. However, he's a tough grader. He has such high expectations from his students, it's almost a little unrealistic? I worked my butt off in his class and only got a B, even though I had a few A's on projects throughout the semester. Oh well.

This is my 3rd class with Toedter. I have learned so much from him! He cares about his students. He's somewhat laid back, wants you to call him Rob or Toedter, not Professor. He is honest about your work if it's bad. Not because he wants to hurt you, but to push you to try harder. He's a harsh grader and expects your best work. Be prepared to work!

I had Toedter for New Tech and View Cam, and since leaving NCC I've gone on to a 4 year school still majoring in photo. Of all the photo profs I've had he's the only fine art professor that has ever truly pushed me to do my absolute best. He expects you to want to expand your mind and be fearless in your work. He's an inspiration for me to this day

i didn't really enjoy him as a professor. he constantly insulted me and my work. he acutally made me cry and normally i am very confident. i told him i was apoplying to suny purchase he told me i would never get in. the school let me in straight from my portfolio work. when i told him he called up the school to see if i was lying!!!
