Very sweet teacher, but she can be timid and tries to steer clear of any kind of confrontation, so things get out of hand during discussion. She can be very disorganized, and there's a lot of unnecessary work. However, it's an easy class.

Maia is definitely an amazing teacher. There is A LOT of work. It is definitely work you can do but it takes up a lot of your time. Just make sure you do your journals every few days instead of waiting for the last minute. and come prepared to the class. an amazing person, a little too much work.

If you are a science or math person, DO NOT take this class... you will only end up frustrated with this teacher and the students who take these types of classes. You do not *learn* anything new, you only hear everyone else's opinions on the material.

This professor is too much of a pushover, not only that but she allows her TA to run the class, and grade papers, which they don't give instructions to. And um since when was Womens studies only about Gay and Lesbian rights, I am all for them but can't we talk about something else without it having to relate back to that in some way or another?

Maia rocks! She is so sweet, personable, approachable, and smart! I have taken several courses with her, including the teaching collective. I highly recommend taking a course with her.
