I was her student for several years 09-12 in several classes & she is a wonderful teacher that taught & provided me with a great education. I took her classes every chance I could get and I truly feel that I was ahead of all the other students who didn't and now, as a professional I feel that I am still ahead. If you want to learn take her class!

Comment:

There's something that you'll never forget about professor Higgins, it's the line "If I were you but I'm not you." Honestly, she is not an easy professor but after taking two of her classes, I have learned so much from her. Also, her tests are 100% based on what she teaches in class, so there are no surprises. I highly recommend taking her classes!

If you are not an Accounting Major I highly do not recommend this specific class. The classroom environment was extremely intimidating. You need to participate at any time chosen. Although some might appeal to this type of learning I found myself very anxious to attend class everyday. I felt discouraged for the entire trimester.

She is definitely a tough teacher but if you attend class, email her questions and you make it a point to participate in class she will really like you! She tests after every chapter so its not multiple at once which is great. Gives excellent notes and resources, she sets you up to pass the class you just need to put the time in. Took her twice!

This will be the longest 11 weeks of your life you. By the second class the back half of your class will be gone and have dropped the class. If not taking her means switching around your schedule, DO SO. She's mean and will make you feel stupid in front of the whole class. 80% of your grade is on exams and she calls on you at any time, be ready.

Professor Higgins is not an easy A prof but if you attend class and pay attention you will do fine . Before every test she posts a practice set on Ulearn that is similar to the test. She claims she doesn't give extra credit but throughout the tri she gives trivia which will be on the tests as extra credit. She didn't give any homework all tri.

DO NOT MISS CLASS! She will fail you if you dont show up. If you miss one of her tests, the make-up exams are almost impossible and she gives you more work and less time to complete it in. Hand writing is sloppy and she goes way to fast. she will go around the room starting in the back calling on people also. the way she grades to is ridiculous

Great professor. Doesn't let you use your phone or laptop but I found that it has helped me learn better. Tests you on every chapter, helps you really grasp the concept before moving on. Open to questions. Always available to go to for questions. Posts practice sets before tests to help you study.

Will call you out if you forget your calculator or book. Refused to take doctors note for concussion. Will not let you make up work when you get a concussion even though you have a doctors note. Takes joy in being mean to students. Overall terrible human being.

Don't take this class she is a mean person and a bad teacher! Class lectures don't match the exams at all. She takes off points if you forget a calculator... Overall a crappy teacher who cares more about proving her point than teaching you

OK, PEOPLE DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Unless you want to hear "OK, PEOPLE" about 300000 times a class. She is the worst teacher and is so rude and disrespectful to everyone and everything she teaches you is not on the test. If you're stuck with her, LEAVE.

I got a good grade in class, and she knows the material very well. However, she seemed angry the whole time, no one was free to talk the whole session, felt fairly intimated to speak up in class. She told the class "the devil you know is better than the devil you don't." I was glad I didn't follow that advice for next accounting course.

Yes, she is tough. She is also a great professor and has knowledge on the subject. If you are an accounting or finance major, take her because you will ACTUALLY LEARN (KEY). If you want to just slide by, then you'll fail. Participation is key. Bring materials and do all HW. Tests are hard but open book for this tax class. I recommend her.

Yes, she keeps repeating many times that she's much older and has more degrees but actually she's saying the truth about herself. She talks fast and sometimes I can't get everything, nevertheless she's understandable. Her exams follow the chapters in the textbook - everything is there. Always willing to help and answer questions

DO NOT TAKE HER. She is probably one of the worst professors I have ever had. She was extremely unprofessional and rude to her students. She will constantly say: "I'm just like you, except I'm not you, I'm older then you, and have more degrees." If you took a shot every time she said that in class, you'd be gone 30 minutes in.

Professor Higgins is very honest of what she expects the first day of class. As long as you show up with the proper materials every day and pay attention you will do fine. She always has office hours and is willing to help if asked. If you don't go to class often she is not the teacher for you. Would highly recommend this class.

Pro. Higgins said herself as tax queen, just trying to be funny, of course. Well, she is very professional, knowledgeable and very helpful, always there to help you. It's like no question she could not answer, just like a alive test bank. She made me love taxes!! Her class is tough but definitely worth for it, you will a lot
