I think, he is the best professor at UNM. He is tough but the entire semester was full of learning and thats what you need from a class. Tough homework but very useful.

Comment:

Excellent teacher. I am glad I had Marios and Javad for this material. They both challenge you to solve problems independently but will help if you show effort. Grading was curved but test problems were quite challenging. Lab is all VHDL programming. Great introduction to engineering problem solving.

Comment:

Very knowlegable and enthusiastic. Sometimes a bit unclear in his requirements/assignments, but fair in his grading. Expects a lot of effort and dedication from his students which is good. Really tries to prepare stduents for the next step instead of just getting through the course material. Overall I would recommend him and take him again.

Comment:

Marios is a good teacher, but you have to work in his class. He would often get very excited and breeze over a topic. The labs were atrocious, but they fixed them the semester I took it. He's a very fair teacher, and tests only from his lectures and homeworks. He has a funny accent, a little hard to understand, but not incomprehensible by any means

The book is horrible, had to teach myself via youtube and other sources. The lab instructor, Javad, was horrible, but Rakesh was awesome. Your expected to know your stuff, but how can you when the book was horrible. Marios means will overall, but he can do a lot better. He has lots of resources, but most aren't so helpful.

Excellent professor. Sometimes he gets "too excited" about things and breezes over details, but he's always totally willing to go back over things if you don't understand. Don't be afraid to ask him questions, nor to ask him about your grade on his test. He's always willing to work with you on your grade.

I liked him very much. After struggling on the first test (I didn't study pre-exams), I studied his pre-exams and his actual tests were identical. Despite the bad first grade, I still managed to get an A due to the HUGE curve at the end. The only bad thing is that the lecture and homework don't prepare you for the test. Overall, great professor.

Nice guy,but hard to understand sometimes. Very poor test-turn-around, took about 4 weeks to get the first test back. Laughs at his own jokes. Very interested in the class BEFORE but not so sure now.

His main interest is with his graduate students and research. He's not a bad professor, but he's not as accessible as he should be for help. The recitation section was not in English (sadly this is true of most of UNM classes). Prone to lose HW - I rec. take him but make copies of your hw & exams.
