Dr. Tweist was the breath of fresh air that I needed from the laundry list of lackluster and underwhelming professors I had the previous years. Up until this class, I was regretful of attending IUP. I'm still regretful, but I am happy I was able to experience a professor who truly cared about his students and taught, rather than just showed up.

While at first it seems you don't learn a lot in his class, you really do. We experienced a trip to his amazing home and it explained a lot about his teaching style, constructivist. Classroom and memorization appear to be hurdles when teaching science. I discovered I would love to have science field based for my students rather than reading a text.

Learned nothing in this class. THE laziest professor by far. Taught each other while he sat back and watched. Inclass debates were a joke. Points were not given fairly. Very full of himself. PLEASE AVOID HIM! You'll be doing yourself a favor!

Lazy prof. WE taught each other the class while he watched. Take home tests are easy as long as you were able to form an opinion and back it up. Debate was unfair with points. I don't feel like I learned enough about school law.

Ok, I thought the title of the course was teaching science in the elementary grades. I did not learn anything in that class that would be helpful to successfully teach science.All he did was talk about his wife and daughter.He is extremely anal about everything,I hope no one gets him as a supervisor during student teaching. AVOID IF POSSIBLE!!!!!!!

This class is designed to teach Ele Edu majors how to teach science, and I didn't learn any useful strategies at all. He taught us science, but it wasn't even on a level that was age appropriate for elementary school students. He says his teaching style is constructivist. But 90% of the time he talked about himself, so I would call that didactic.

Yeah, he can be a little pompous. But he actually is a really good professor. I liked how he did a lot of hands on stuff in order to help us grasp how to teach science to young kids. Some of his tests were a little hard, but not overly so. He's pretty funny and he makes class interesting.

Dr. Tweist is the most unhelpful, cocky, rude, and discouraging professor I have ever had at IUP. I learned nothing in his class and his tests were completely ludacrist. The tests refelcted nothing that was taught in the class.
