Comment:
Research 3 is a group research project. The most difficult part of this class is getting the group to work together. The material is straight forward and builds off of research 1 and 2. Professor Duell is always available to help and feedback and is a kind professor who wants everyone to get an A. Show up, do the work, talk to her and you'll pass.

Be prepared to read the material. The exams were lengthy but were based on the lectures which were helpful. Research paper is lengthy so prepare early for best grade.

This is my second class with Professor Duell and so far I am very pleased with how great a teacher she is. She is tough but very fair. If you know your stuff then you are good. In this class Psychology & Women it was all about getting to know the stages women go through. Participation was a must and you felt safe and secure during class. A+++

Prof. Duell is an amazing and kindhearted professor. She is extremely knowledgeable and engaged in student research and learning. This course reviews and expands on RI & RII and the material was interesting and fun! The weekly assignments tie into the final research paper. Ask lots of questions and attend chat. One of the best professors I've had!

Not recommended for Research 3. Provides no instructions and assigns difficult assignments. My whole class was confused about the assignment and she offered zero help. Very late at returning grades and releasing assignment material. Never releases stuff on time. Doesn't respond to messages. Useless professor

Fantastic caring professor! The material was very difficult for brain, mind and behavior. You really have to be focused when studying the material..But, tests are fair and from the textbook. Just a bit long. Loved her!

I took Prof. Duell online over the summer for Human Sexuality. The very first timed 100 question test was horrible because I was ill-prepared. Use her pdf versions of each chapter to help find information otherwise you will go crazy trying to look for them. It's best to read or at least review all material before hitting BEGIN. Easy 300 level.

This is what psychology research should look like. Here is a woman who actually cares about what she's teaching, and that her students are learning. It's not an easy class, it's not meant to be, but she's a very helpful teacher, and she loves what she does. Don't expect to get your grades back quick, it's not ideal, but she compensates kindly.

The timed tests with 100 questions are terrible. Your grade depends only on tests and discussions. We had 5 tests. Use her mini lectures/slides to help with the course. They are the condensed version of the text. Discussions can get heated with other students on topics like abortion, and pregnancy. Fun course though otherwise. Just be prepared.

At first she seems nice but you should wait until she gives you a 100 questions multiple choice test with a time limit of two hours. :(

Probably one of the most pretentious and rude professors I have ever taken at UMass. She forgot to release exams and could be very unclear with certain expectations. I had a hard time with the exams because almost everything I studied was never present on the tests!

I really enjoyed the class. The Professor was engaging and prompt with e-mails. She forgot to release exams a few times. Honestly, a lot of the material in her notes and in the book were not present on the exam. Research paper was extremely interesting. Slow returning grades. Overall, nice Professor, interesting topic, eh class.

Brain, Mind and behavior accelerated. Dr. Duell is by far the most engaging professor i have experienced yet. She really cares about her students and willing to meet and discuss class material. The class is difficult, but so interesting and rewarding in the long run. Her lecture notes were extremely helpful. Great class, Wonderful Professor!

Brain, Mind, and Behavior (Online) Dr. D is one of the most caring, most brilliant, and most enthusiastic professors at UML. She possesses a great passion toward her work and this course. Although the tests may be seen by some as difficult, if the notes and text are studied prior to each exam (5 exams total), then a high grade is easy to achieve.

Brain Mind and Behavior; Super nice, cool, and intelligent. Class was accelerated but very fair. Tests were difficult. Lecture notes were actually helpful, unlike other classes. A ton of interesting information from a great teacher. When you have a teacher who cares and knows their stuff, it's tough to not enjoy yourself!

Brain, Mind & Behavior online. . definitely a tough class but straightforward. The online exams were tough even though open book (took about 2 hours each to complete). She scaled exam grades a couple times, which was helpful... never got my last paper grade back from her though. Overall, a pretty good experience.
