Comment:

lectures are long and her exams are all lectures and definitions in readings, but it's worth it. Don't miss class, and if you do, make sure to get the notes from a classmate, because she won't give them to you. As long as you go to the lectures, it's difficult to not get an A or B.

Comment:

Proff MPO is excellent in breaking down subjects & making class super interesting. She uses real life examples. Emphasis is placed on keywords and to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the motivations behind terrorist groups existence and survival. I would take this class again and recommend others to take it.

A flurry of information. During the semester, she has 7 exams. Seems like it would be plenty of opportunity to improve your grade. Unfortunately, she throws tons of information at you during the lecture, and still expects mastery of lots of textbook knowledge. Too much to keep track of.

Comment:

Took International Terrorism. Easy class. If you take it as a once-per-week class, you will have an exam every week, though not hard because she tells you in class what most of the questions will be. Very professional, which I appreciate. Only down-side was that the class was not as interesting as I had hoped.

She is very knowledgable and the class is full of information. Her grading is straight forward and the summer course consists of five 20 point tests for your grade. The vocab was from the book and information from the lecture/movies. Once you learn what information you will be tested on and what not to take notes on, the class will be easy.

Lectures can be a bit long, especially when taking lots of notes. Test come from book terms applied to lecture concepts. Course is based out of a total of 100 points, which leaves very little wiggle room if you have a bad exam. 4 exams, 1 15-page paper, and 1 quiz. Attendance not mandatory but I recommend attending or you will miss test concepts

Her lectures can drag a bit, but the material is interesting. She does not give a written review of what to expect on exams but gives a verbal overview of key points the day before the test. Overall it is an easy class to pass with an A if you study notes and vocab from the book.

Comment:

Love this class! International Terrorism with her was sooo interesting! She has a lot great stories and really loves her subject area. Has an interesting sense of humor. Also took Turkey in Transition (the alternative spring break class) with her. She is truly wonderful and wants you to do as well as possible. Highly recommended!

For a class that could be interesting, she makes it kind of boring. The test are not difficult, however they are a bit hard if you do not study for a good amount. Just be prepared to be bored, a little bit frustrated, and confused on what will be on the next test.

She is a very intelligent woman and has a lot to offer. If you're not willing to put in some effort to learn you're not going to do well. She is a tough grader and expects a lot out of paper assignments (as she should since she is a college professor). I learned a lot in the two classes I took and would recommend her to any serious student.

I have had her 4 or 5 times and I loved her! class is not an easy A and it shouldn't be! you have to write papers and study... remember, you're in college! I dare anyone to say she doesn't know her stuff! She is brilliant!

If you can't write a 5 page paper don't take this professor. she is very helpful and if you do not turn in your paper she gives you a chance to turn it in next time, and if you get a low grade on paper she will let you redo it.

This class was difficult at first since I'd written few research papers before, but once I got the hang of it the 13 papers were easy enough to write. The midterm and final are also pretty easy if you pay attention in class. The book is useless...I don't think any questions from either the midterm or final came from the book.

This teacher demands a lot; especially a lot of writing. But I absolutely bought into her knowledge of the Middle East and was willing to do the work. I put in a lot of effort and received a good grade. If you are interested in the Middle East, you should be fine. W/o TOTAL effort, you WILL have problems.

Grades harshly on paper that is worth 30% of grade. Not clear on what is expected. I got A's on the exams but failed the class with a F paper. Advisor told me the class has a high failure rate.

This is a horriable teacher! She makes you write a 3-5 page paper every week and the whole class is only worth 100 points! She was rude, not helpful, and would not tell you what was one her 2 exams! It was a unfair guessing game. She made the class boring.

You definetely have to work for an A. We had a paper due every week. Although I got the maximum grade on almost all of my 13 papers, it was not easy. I spent a lot of time reasearching and then one whole day writing a paper each week.She grades primarily on the content. So work! I learned a lot! Exams were not hard if you read the book and lectures
