Professor Hood may be the funniest professor I have ever had. There are only a few tests in her class which are very easy as long as you show up to class. Go to class, participate in discussions and its and easy A.

Maureen Hood is the reason why I love to show up in her class. She is just so funny and talks about her travels in her homeland Scotland. She makes boring stuff fun and makes you want to do the assignment. She never took attendance or passes out a syllabus. I never missed a day of class because I miss seeing her.

If you're taking Hood for public speaking, DON'T BUY THE BOOK. There's no homework whatsoever, and I don't even bother bringing it anymore. However, Hood is great. She's hilarious, talks half of the class, and makes everyone feel comfortable. She makes public speaking easier than ever. Would take her again.

Maureen Hood is a fantastic person. She's boisterous and loud, but she's wonderful and kind-hearted. Communicate with her and she will make your semester in her class easy and fun. She truly enjoys every second spent with her students.

Maureen Hood is the best English Lit teacher I have ever had. As other have said, she makes boring reading fun, and makes it RELEVANT! She is also very funny, and will say whats on her mind no matter what. Her quizzes are easy as long as you take the very few notes she gives you. I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone looking to take ENG Lit 1 or 2.

She tries very hard to make the class fun and interesting. Her quizs are hit or miss, either the whole class passes or the whole class fails. In order to pass you have to take notes, and review them almost after every class because she has pop quizs with about ten vocab words and thats it.

Hated her. I'm normally an A student when it comes to Literature and English and such, but her unclear explainations of what will be on quizzes, the chaos she calls class, and her lack of a syllabus (and not telling anyone where her office is) definitely did not help my grade. She is way too over the top and talks about useless things. Hell class.

I took her for Short Story. She has to be one of the most intelligent women I know. Her views on life are just phenomenal. She is the best English teacher I've ever had and probably ever will. Best at HVCC. Very easy class. 4 Essays and that's it.

Maureen Hood inspired me to become a Lit major. She's brilliant, funny, intelligent and well-versed in all aspects of literature. She truly believes what she teaches and will spend extra time just discussing poetry, drama and prose. An enthusiastic professor, take any course she's teaching. You will learn and never forget her.
