Comment:

Participation is a huge aspect of this online class. However, even though I was a tad late to a couple of the group project meetings, she was very forgiving and understanding. I came into this class with little to no law knowledge, but she was quick to respond to every question I'd ask. Her extra credit options are a breeze.

Comment:

Maureen took a great deal of time giving VERY constructive feedback on all writing assignments. She took the time to cite case law, very specific supporting statutes, previous cases, etc. By the end of the term it was very impressive the amount of time she put in to provide the amount of feedback she left for every student on every assignment.

Maureen Miller is the most understanding, caring and helpful teacher Ive had since I started college. Ive been sick and sometimes its hard to balance health, work and school. she understood this and gave me words of encouragement to push through and she even called me to explain an assignment for me, Ive never had a teacher like her. Thank you

Comment:

From start to finish this course was confusing. Instructor wasn't very clear (or so wordy that you couldn't understand her), constantly changing things (including work you turned in) to make it say what she wanted it to say. Rude to students in private chat discussions during the group presentations. Glad to be done with class.

She teaches this class like you are going to be a lawyer. I need to know the laws of business for a Business degree, not law. The major assignments are a joke. She does the work for you. After "reviewing" my assignment, she deleted EVERYTHING that I worked on, and uploaded her own version of my paper with no explanation why. WHAT TEACHER DOES THAT?

Learning the contents of the legal system isn't too bad. However, the class is extremely disorganized and it is hard to keep track of what to do. The assignments she gives out are all confusing, and the group project is equally confusing.

The online book is confusing and time consuming. I would have paid $150 for a physical copy if I could. Her instructions are unclear and disorganized. Maureen constantly posts assignments late and has unreasonable deadlines (Tuesday at 8pm!) If you are not a dry, methodical person, do not take this class. Also: online group assignments.....

I absolutely HATE this class. First of all, I don't understand the legal system AT ALL and took this class only for my degree. Maureen is so confusing and I don't understand what she wants me to do. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!!

Good Lord this class was difficult. Maybe it wasn't the class so much as the unorganized, highly confusing teacher. In this online class that I spent a minimum of 20 - 30 hours each week in reading alone, still only got me a B. Seriously do not take this class as her as an instructor. The group project is a joke, and you will walk away crying!

Maureens tone is very rude. She spends more time criticizing than she does answering questions. My message exchanges with her thus far have been disappointing. She is late on posting lecture notes, and assigns a ridiculous amount of reading. I'm not exactly sure what she does... But I don't think she enjoys her job.

She clearly does not have enough time to teach this class. Many assignment due dates were delayed due to her being too busy to post assignments on time. I was given no feedback which is terrible for an online class and she teaches the class from California so she has no office hours. She graded maybe 3 assignments by the end of the quarter.

Dont really know how i feel about her. She can be very passive aggressive. The group presentation was a complete joke. She pretty much fed you all the answers. However for individual papers, she is a pretty harsh grader and expects a lot from you in a class you barely learn anything in. Easy 4.0 but you don't learn anything. She gives out EC too

Very dysfunctional class. Never read the text, all test answers were online posted by her under some other website. The group project was a waste of time but an easy A. If your here to learn law take someone else, if you want an easy A this is great!

Do not take any courses from this instructor. She has no organizational skills and will waste A LOT of time. Who does a group presentation in an online class via chat?! I regret giving her a chance - I should have dropped this class in the first week like I originally intended. STAY AWAY!!!!!

I've had a lot of bad teachers, but this one takes the cake... She treats you like a 2 year old. And when you ask a question for clarification all you get is a question back, when she was the one who started the confusing comment. And the online group project was absurd and a complete joke.

I found this class ridiculous! Although we were given a group project and told to make live commentary, Maureen literally "fed" us live allowing us to present. Her instructions were confusing at best, and she doesn't seem to like teaching very much. Who gives a presentation over a chat line?????

It was hard to get questions answered in her class in the online section. The group projects and the class project in general seemed to be disorganized. I had to drop the class for family reasons and I got a phone call form her telling me that I owed her an explanation as to why I left.

The workload in this class is a little bit heavy and a lot of readings were required. But Ms. Miller is very helpful, she answers questions fast and provides lot of help. I think she is a very responsible instructor. You will get a lot out of her class.

Comment:

Maureen is very knowledgeable abt her subject teaching. No doubt this is one of the much tedious subject that I have taken, it does require a good amount of work, time and focus for you to excel. She gives a generous amount of extra credits as long as you participate. I was skeptical abt recommending at first, but the returns are high, learnt alot!
