Comment:

Michael was great! Taking this class has helped me greatly in my degree, even 4 years later. One of the most valuable classes I have ever taken. Michael was clear, fair and gave several ways to learn the material (handouts, quizzes, pictures). Read and learn the words via textbook before lecture and you are set. Flashcards are your friend here

Comment:

Michael was a great teacher! Very knowledgable and caring toward students. He is very reasonable with his grading and tries to make the material as interesting as possible. We had short quizzes at the end of each class but they were always easy. I would definitely take a class with him again!

Boring lectures. Other professors for this course will take out your lowest 10 quizzes, he counts them all. Not an easy professor and takes off any marks he possibly can. If you can take it with a different professor, do it.

Worst prof ever. Don't be fooled by his niceness. He is so painful to listen to- monotone lectures. He doesn't know his material and reads directly off of his notes that have been the same for years, yet he claims his notes aren't ready to post. It's his way or the highway in his course. A students, don't expect to remain A students in his class.

Michael was GREAT for med-term! He made everything SO interesting, and he obviously knows his stuff. Hilarious, and plays a wide variety of eccentric music before class. He's super fair with marking, and the class material was pretty easy. I pulled an A in that class without much effort. Just attend class, do some textbook exercises & you'll be ok

He is a great prof! He's very knowledgable about the material and has great back stories that relate to your topic making what you're learning interesting. He's a fair marker and tells you what to do on the exam and what not to do. If you study and do the workbook you should pass this class with flying colours! Plus he gives prizes out!

Michael is amazing! He always has these funny stories that will help you to remember material. The quizzes are super easy, but you have to put in the work before coming to class. No surprises on tests. There is a lot of material to cover but he is easy to approach and super helpful. Super fast marker as well.

By far the worst prof I've had in my four years. Did not respond to emails when I needed help. He seems very smart but he is not a good teacher. Puts random things on his every day quizzes. Do not recommend.

Michael is an amazing prof. He is very smart and his class is so interesting. A quiz is written at the end of every class (do readings and you'll ace it) and he has them marked within a couple hours and updated on blackboard! Very clear and concise with expectations. Loved him!

Michael is a great instructor always ready with a story related to what he is teaching. He makes learning word parts interesting and keeps the class engaged. Encorporating stickers as rewards in activities promotes more active learning -- It's suprising how much university students like stickers. He is very funny, helpful and easy to learn from.

Easily my favourite professor. He is witty and caring, explains clearly what he’s going to include on exams and fully communicates his expectations. While his classes were tough, they were well worth the added difficulty as he is brilliant. I enjoyed his classes so much that I took an extra class that wouldn’t count towards my degree.

Michael is a great professor, keeps class light hearted. Informed students when he was given important information. What was expected on the midterms, and final was clear, always gave us plenty of choices. He was very easy to schedule office hours with. The first 2/3 of the course was very clear and organized. Last little bit felt out of place

Comment:

The best professor I've ever had. He genuinely cares about all of his students and is just very loveable. The textbook is necessary although his test and quizzes are actually quite simple. He hands back quizzes promptly which is handy for review, also there is a lot of in-class group work. I admire him as a person and strongly recommend his class.
