Love Dr. M. He curves the class a lot at the end and it's the best. He's a cool prof, everyone wants him. Good in office hours too. He's more chill than some of the other chem profs, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't study. Still study, and study A LOT. He's an easier/ very fair grader, but the material is very hard. Don't slack. Study.

He does not follow the textbook! You need to go to class! He is hilarious and caring. I really liked him and loved that he gave practice worksheets. He wants his students to do well. He is very focused on you understanding Ochem and not just memorizing stuff. I loved his approach. He is great!

He's easy cuz the content that he teaches is easier-you're not really learning all there is to know about ochem. This class is ochem on training wheels. If you have another professor for second semester you're screwed. If you only care about the grade then take this class. wanna go to med school? you'll probably fail the ochem section of the mcat.

Dr. Malachowski is hands down one of the best organic chemistry professors. He makes difficult topics easy to understand. He also gives back tests the next class, which I really respected. Overall, he is caring, reliable, clear, knowledgeable , calm, funny, and respected in the chemistry department. If you can, take his class!

Dr. Malachowski is definitely the best professor I have ever had. I probably missed 1 class this semester since I was so motivated to attend his 8am CHEM302 lecture. He knows what he's doing, and more importantly, he teaches you in the best way possible with no stress. He is extremely helpful during office hours and pushes you to do your best.

Not only is this professor friendly, funny, and knowledgeable, but he deserves the professor of the year award that he earned earlier this year. He encourages students not to simply memorize the material but think on a broader, more applicable and creative level that I've never had a professor encourage before. Outstanding professor and person.

Malachowski truly cares about all of his students and wants everyone to do well. He strongly believes in curving the class at the end of the semester which definitely helps. His tests are pretty straight forward and pretty much always followed his lectures. He gives a lot of optional hw (online/text/worksheet & if u do it, you're guaranteed an A.

Dr. Malachowski is truly the best chemistry teacher at USD. He has an amazing understanding of the subject and is clear on what he wants you to know for tests. He teaches so that everything connects and makes sense. If you have the chance of taking him at all: do it. The 3 tests were manageable, but the final is a big leap. Go to office hours.

There is no homework for credit so you have to WANT to do it - and it's important that you want to. He is a bit confusing, he'll skip a lot of one chapter and visit things here and there, very scattered.

Dr. Malachowski is the BEST chemistry professor at USD! Ochem is a difficult subject but he has the ability to explain the information in a manor that anyone can understand. The content was hard as well as the tests but as along as you study you will be fine. The grade is compsed of only three exams and a final. Take Malachowski!

Best professor I have ever had. Knows which approach to take when teaching in lecture. Really cares about his students and will work with you no matter what to help you understand the material. First time I have ever had a professor concerned about how I'm doing in class, or in general.

He is a very thorough professor. There are three exams and a final. He tests on everything that he teaches and as a result the exams are really long and sometimes unfinishable. I highly recommend taking him.

Very good teacher for a tough class. Take him, but don't make the mistake of thinking that since you got into his class it's easy sailing fromt here on out; it's not.

Take this course with Malachowski. By far the best of the o-chem teachers. You will hear tons of horror stories from all the other professors, and for the most part they are true. Malachowski tests what he teaches, and he actually teaches. Which is unusual for the science teachers at this school. His approach is not to make you feel inferior.
