My favorite lecturer so far. Lots of reading: 2 novels and 3 journal articles per week for half the quarter. You can get away with not reading her "Ordinary People" book and only reading the abstract and conclusion of each journal article. It's audio bruincasted but she only posts parts of the lecture slides so you should go to class.

Really knows the material. Her tests are challenging so you need to do the readings and keep track of the authors because you will need to cite them in the exams. The class discussions are interesting and she is very helpful if you ask.

Prof Smith is excellent and one of the brightest professors at UCLA, I would recommend her. Sure, the curriculum can get difficult but that is what learning is all about. You need to challenge yourself! :-)

Good lecturer.Friendly, approachable.Not dry.Presents material well.Uses powerpoint but refuses to post her slides.Assigns a lot of reading.Her lectures are so elementary and basic but when you get her exams they require a lot of detailed knowledge that she didnt touch upon during class.Grade based on midterm, guided research paper, and final.

Dr. Smith is an amazing professor. She has great knowledge in Archaeology and is very passionate about it. She is an amazing lecturer! She engages her students and even cracks a few jokes. She is one of the best professors i've had here so far. Amazing class!

Clearly pre-occupied with being the professor who can jam pack as much as possible in an introductory course. The guided research papers were a farce. Entirely too much reading for this class. Does the bare minimum to justify her office hours.

She's like a lawyer that doesn't have time to go over the case with her clients. She's quick and sweet with little to no opinion every so often she'll with respond with, " Um I don't think so" other than that anything you ask her will be NO.
