Comment:

Nancy is incredibly bright and sincerely cares about her classs success. She is a very talented physicist and when you take her class know that you are learning from one of the best. Physics is a hard subject. You will have to work at it. But if you do all the homework rigorously, you are almost guaranteed to succeed.

Does not explain the math behind the problems. Writes equation on the board but does not show how to apply it. I understand she must move quickly, but wastes time walking around the room asking random questions

dont take her in the summer!! she rushes so fast through everything, interrupts students while they're asking questions, and is really rude. the quizzes and tests are based of homework but it does no good if you dont understand it. i go to UMass regularly and am good at math but im so lost in her class. textbook/hw are online, 3 in class tests

very intelligent professor, doesn't always explain thoroughly enough and sometimes moves fast but she will try to accommodate if you just ask. overall the course was not as daunting as i imagined it would have been.

She explains physics in a simple way. She gives you all the formulas you need and you can make a formula sheet. Quizzes and tests are exactly as you expect based off of the lecture and homework. I love taking her classes!

I took her in the fall semester for Physics 111. She is absolutely perfect teacher, I could ever have for physics. I did not like Physics until I took her. She prepares you for the exam very well, if one practices her homework and pay attention in her classes, you will get an easy hundred in your test. highly recommended. Hats off.

Physics has never been my subject at all and i mean that with everything. Nancy is an absolute gem of a human being and an instructor her notes are so clear and prepares you well enough for the exams. I have a much better grasp on physics and how everything is the way it is because of her i can't wait fro 122 with her next semester!!

Rather than actually solving for problems she takes the shortcut by saying "If you have this, this, and this, can you solve for _____?" and ends the problem at that... which doesn't really teach me all too much personally.

Nancy is a clear lecturer and moves quickly through the material. HW problems out of the textbook, no need to do any reading. She picks HW problems as quizzes. She pretty much tells you the exam problems during the review and just changes the numbers slightly. You get an entire cheat too. Caring teacher and flexible with making up material.

She is an amazing professor I was very happy to have taken this class with her. She has an accent but once you get used to it that won't be a problem anymore. She made physics easy and more important applicable to the world around us. Office hours are available and she helps you with anything you need. I strongly recommend taking her!

Ohhhh Nancy. She's awesome, clearly explains everything. All test and quiz material are homework questions and she'll go through every question in class if you ask. Labs are fun and easy as well.

Clearly explains all material. The tests and quizzes are directly from the homework that she goes over and answers all questions from. Will most likely have trouble if you don't do the homework. Definitely recommend her, Physics seemed scary at first but she made it interesting and easy to understand!!

Nancy is literally amazing. I don't even understand how someone can be so wonderful. She makes things seem so incredibly transparent and clear. She wants everyone to do the homework. DO THE HOMEWORK. Do the homework. Do the homework and if you have any questions at all, go see her directly or wait till the next class for the homework review (!!!)

Absolutely love this lady. Excellent and elegant professor. Disclaimer: I transferred to rutgers after getting my AS in physics at Brookdale. Despite Nancy being a great professor, the 121/122/223 sequence is greatly watered down and is by no means adequate preparation for junior level physics at Rutgers.

Nancy is an excellent and elegant professor. Few major points: - You must do the homework. - Every equation she writes on the board in the beginning of class will be needed on a quiz/test. WRITE THEM DOWN ON YOUR EQUATION SHEET. - All tests/quizes are directly from the homework, so do it and understand how to do it.

Comment:

6 week summer session is REALLY hard. Be prepared to do a lot of studying. Not an easy class at all. Textbook is not needed. Copy the homework textbook pages (given in the syllabus) from other students and bring them to class, you will need them for the hmwk quizzes she gives. Will save you lots of $$$.
