Comment:
Dr. Esposito is a VERY smart man. Due to this, he teaches at a high level that makes it difficult to understand physics if you have never taken it before. There is also homework 3-4 time a week, and the recitation does not make the class any easier, as my instructor did not help in any way.

NOT GOOD! He only takes 1 formula and keeps rearranging the same formula! Yet doesn't explain it at all!! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM DESPOCITO!

Comment:
Esposito is a brilliant physicist but that's it, he is a physicist, not a teacher. He is heavily involved in research and does not care about his classes. His test seems to be the hardest questions in the textbook cranked up to 13 in difficulty. His lectures are borderline useless as he usually talks about unrelated theory. Go to a different prof.

Comment:
Dr. Esposito is extremely kind and too smart to teach intro physics. Very old school (uses chalkboard primarily) and takes getting used to - but, I found his lectures captivating and generally helpful. He is accessible and helpful outside of class, and is willing to reconsider grading if you ask. Make sure to do the worked problems in the book.

Simply put, Dr Esposito is just too smart of a man to be teaching a bunch of idiots. The only way you will pass this class is if you have already taken and done well in advanced physics courses in high school. He only lectures with variables (no worked problems in class), but you need to go so that you can try to apply the theory to problems.

Just want to start out with Esposito is obviously a very intelligent and kind man. However, his teaching style just does not work for most people, especially in an intro to physics class. He teaches completely theoretically and does practically no practice problems. DO NOT TAKE IF YOU HAVE NO PREVIOUS PHYSICS EXPERIENCE!

Comment:
Dr Esposito is a great way to start physics. He eases you into derivations and using variables. His course is a slide. HW is participation. As long as you go to class and just do problems on your own using variables, you will pass. If you want to guarantee yourself an A, find the PLC and just hang out there. A lot of physics students are there.

He is clearly a super smart guy but is not the best professor. He is very theoretical has done 0 practice problems through out the entire semester. The class it self is graded very leniently so it's not very hard, however, you are on your own learning the material. There is not very much homework and you get cheat sheets for the exams.

Oh boy, Paul is definitely a physics professor. He rarely, if ever, goes over any relevant material to the exams in class. You are graded by 4 exams and that's it. So get the past exams from someone and you should be okay. But lecture is pointless; he just derives equations the entire time, and takes forever to get back exam grades.

Paul is exceptionally theoretical. If you would like to know how to derive equations from other equations, be entertained by his pronunciation of characters like Epsilon not(naut) or twiddle, or would like to have questions met with a glare, this class is for you. The tests do not correlate to literally any of the material. is fun.

Esposito is awesome. He's a super nice guy and is eager to answer any question you have. The guy is a genius and is funny without trying to be. He has given me a lot of advice and confidence within physics. It's amazing a guy so smart can dumb things down like he does. And he pretty much tells you what will be on the test the day of.

The best teacher I've ever had. He explains the material with great clarity and doesn't forget to put details in context to explain the "big picture". His class is not easy, but physics isn't easy.

I had a small interest in Physics before I came to the University of Cincinnati, but with every class taught by Dr. Esposito, I have grown to LOVE physics. As each class session ends, I feel the need to stand and clap. With my degree, I hope to be as brilliant and positively influential to other aspiring physicists as he has been to me.

I have had Professor Esposito for this entire year, he is the best professor I have ever had! His knowledge and presentation of the material is unrivaled. He is extremely helpful and always available. His exams challenge your conceptual understanding but as long as you complete the homework assignments and attend class, you will do well.

Wonderful teacher. He came in everyday excited to teach us something, without the assistance of notes. He is a genius, but is adept at conveying elementary topics to his students and building into complex topics and methods. Grading is fair. Attendance is not mandatory, but you need to go b/c the test only covers what is discussed in class.
