Comment:
This class was very challenging and lecture heavy but Dr. Lewis truly wants his students to succeed and goes out of his way to make himself available for your academic success. The reading was awful but if you don't read, you won't pass. His jokes were cheesy but you can tell he was really passionate about what he was teaching.

Dr. Lewis is a good teacher and is open for questions. You can tell he is passionate about Religion. He has pop quizzes over reading every week and is a harsh grader. If you listen to his lectures and read every night you will do fine. The notes taken in class are exactly what is on the study guide

One of my favorite professors. Lots of reading daily but as long as you do read there's nothing to worry about. Weekly quizzes and tests are pretty easy if you actually read

Dr. Lewis is very passionate about the subjects he teaches and that is evident in his lectures. His tests are worth a lot of the overall grade (70%) so you really have to do well on the exams to do well in the class. The reading he assigns is essential for the quizzes and tests. Pay attention to specific details in class, they will be on the test.

Professor Lewis is by far my favorite professor that I have interacted with at Mercer. Every word he says has a purpose and every class he teaches is filled to the brim with necessary and beautify formatted information in the form of lecture. His speaking is interesting and well thought out, his quizzes are very easy and his tests are average.

I feel like this was the worst class I've ever taken. There's an insane amount of reading and he grades HARSH. If I recall, the avg for his essays are Cs despite it being a int 301 course that's not relevant to any majors. All I can say is he doesn't explain how he wants his essays to look and ends up destroying people's grades for it.

This teacher has changed my opinion of Mercers "small class for closer student-teacher relationship" policy. I went to him several times throughout the semester on account of confusingly failing test after test, and he offered zero interest in me as a student. He says its your problem, and will test you on broad topics and expect specific answers.

Dr. Lewis is a really nice guy and caring once you get to know him. His classes are difficult and he is very specific about his work... and if you fail to do it his way your grade will suffer. Great Guy but Hard Professor... my advice get to know him and get on his good side.

Dr. Lewis is a tough professor, but he truly challenges his students and pushes them to evaluate what they believe. You have to read all of the reading and you have to go to class in order to do well. Take good notes and study and review them with others. Study in groups for the exam!

I attended Mercer University to have a relationship with each of the professors that I encounter throughout my career.... Doctor Lewis while being a wealth of knowledge in the field of theology and christian ethics does not help foster students towards academic growth but instead embraces a policy of strict rigidity and lets your grades do the rest

Out of all the courses I have taken so far this professor was by far the worst. He takes off points for minor details, is not clear in his requirements, tests are hard and he does not teach the things that end up on the test half the time. All in all I had a pretty bad experience and I would not recommend him for Christian Theology!

He is a very difficult grader, and it is very important to agree with him and give him what he wants. Good luck figuring out what he wants. I'm an A student with two majors and I rewrote my final paper for him 3 times, he still gave me a C+.

The irony was not lost on me that I had a religion professor with a god complex. He counts off for pointless reasons and gives no breaks. His WRT class is pointless and he expects you to write what he wants how he wants, if you don't. You'll get a C. Good luck to all those who want to play the guess-what-teacher's-thinking game!

He is an excellent professor. Every day I would learn something new in his class. His tests are not the easiest. Make sure to prepare yourself. His tests are straight from the notes and lectures. He is also a very funny guy, makes the class very enjoyable.

Dr. Lewis is a great professor. He may seem a little tough at first, however once you get past the first test you will understand what he wants. An A or B is definitely obtainable, but just be prepared each class for discussions. Tests are what he says will be on there. You will definitely learn a lot from his class and enjoy his ideas. Good Luck!

He is opinionated, but he is also pretty hilarious. He makes his opinion known, but he wont belittle your opinion. He is pretty fair, and his tests were pretty much straight from notes and discussions. I def recommend him above the other Christianity professors

This teacher is awful. He makes you do community service at 6:30 in the morning on a Sunday while he doesn't attend. He grades your papers depending on if he agrees with your opinion; therefore, he is biased. I did everything and more he required for the class, but I still only got a C+. He is a joke.

Professor Lewis is excellent at teaching. He has been more helpful to me at Mercer than other professors. Always listen before you judge what he's teaching, his facts are accurate. I'd take him again. I definitely suggest this class for an inquisitive mind as well. I took him for Old Testament, and he has become one of my favorite professors!

Great guy, teaches well and very clearly. No difficult grades, balanced tests and quizzes. As long as you do the work, you'll pass, and his class is extremely interesting. Some negative reviews I've seen look more like people bitter over a bad grade than anything. This guy is good at what he does.
