Comment:

I can't really blame the teacher for this dull subject. He did pretty well, although his speech was initially off-putting. He could be funny, and did occasionally crack jokes. He was also very considerate by allowing our class to leave five minutes early every lecture. Kudos to him for making even the most boring topics somewhat interesting.

Comment:

Dr. Ralf is the best professor I have had while here at UF. He really cares about his students and wants them to learn. He loves lecturing and loves when his students are genuinely interested in the material. He has average standards for his students because he understands that we're students and we procrastinate. Overall, I highly recommend him!

Comment:

Dr. Ralf is tough, but he is also a very responsive professor - his lectures are as up to date as possible (even when teaching a history class). He is always there to help you, and does so generously. The textbook isn't completely necessary as most of the readings can be found online for free. His very dry jokes, when you catch them, are hilarious.

One word. Pompous. He cares little about helping you learn. He enjoys making you feel stupid and ignorant- as much as possible. His slides barely help. There is no book so if you don't have a photographic memory or are already perusing a masters degree in Theater History, you will not do well. I asked many times for help, and he gave none.

Okay as long as he's the smartest guy in the room (which at UF he usually is). However, try to criticize or challenge, and it simply becomes a game of who-can-cite-the-more-esoteric-source. As long as you regurgitate and play dumb, you'll do well.

dr ralf's classes are tough, but that because he's a real professor and could be teaching at a real school. The man is just too smart for his own good. remshardt is the epitimy of what you think of as an avant-garde german theatre professor. overall- brilliant at what he does

Ralf is one of the best teachers I've ever had. Besides all his normal classes, he took me on as an independent study playwriting student. He was supportive, funny, and brilliant! I graduated in 2001, and I still am grateful to him for everything.

The man is a pretentious wise-ass. He can read and write well and he should stick to that. He is a dreadful professor who constantly ****s his intellectual prowess in order to appear important and interesting instead actually teaching the students something.

This class got a little bit boring at times, but he was a very easy grader! If you do the work, you'll get an A. Study the terms he hands out before the online tests and you'll ace those too. Definitely a good elective for someone interested in theater, but not in the department.
