Worst teacher I've ever had. Does not teach. Constantly gets off topic during lectures and talks more about his cats than he does the material. He does not post grades all semester long, and won't tell you your grade because it's 'too difficult' to understand weighted grades until the end.. He's a nice guy... it's time to retire.

You WILL teach yourself. He was very frustrated to work with. Didn't want to meet outside of class and said to "just send me an email." He doesn't post grades and the exams and homework are very difficult. This class made me change my career to something other than solar energy. He is not clear in teaching and gets distracted very often.

Had this prof for three classes. Very dysfunctional, unorganized, gives tests barely related to textbook material. HE DOES NOT POST GRADES or use Canvas. I had no idea what my grade was until the end of the semester. He goes on tangents every 30s and can't stay focused. He also mentioned his cat 221 times in one semester between my classes. AVOID!

You are going to be teaching yourself in the class. The professor gives lectures but you cannot follow along and take notes from them. He goes off topic and does not have a clear teaching style. He assigns homework but just counts them as completed. The exams are difficult because they do not line up with a lot of what is learned in the course.

DO NOT TAKE! He is awful. Homework is assigned for each class, but he is always late to post it. A study guide was sent out the night before a test I had spent hours stuying for just to recieve a low grade. We were even allowed to use a notecard but he is such a hard grader and inconsistent. Also, grades are not posted until the end of the semester

Homework is posted late and always long and repetitive. Our test review was posted night before the test and the test was one of the hardest I have ever taken. The teaching is nonsensical and you better be good at comprehending the text because you have to know the material like you write it your self to pass the tests. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

Worst classroom experience I have ever had. Took him for a summer physics class and the whole class consisted of him copying his notes with no explanation of them, making sexist/inappropriate jokes about women and/or swearing, doesn't give partial credit, unclear questions and never posted ANY grades during the semester so no one knew their grades.

Not the type of teacher you want for an important introductory class. His lectures are pretty bad, further exacerbated by his cryptic handwriting and his Spanish accent(randomly talks in Spanish as well). It's 2019, and he still uses a spreadsheet to track grades. Attendance is for a grade. On the positive side, he is nice and occasionally funny.

I was going to take physics over the summer, but on the first day of class he just copied his notes on the board with little to no useful explanation while getting sidetracked. I got the feeling that the rest of this class felt the same way. Seems like a nice guy but definitely not the physics teacher I want, especially for a compressed semester.

Very nice guy, but could be the WORST professor I've ever had. At first I thought he was just a really confused (possibly senile) substitute teacher close to retirement, but then found out he's full time. Lectures are torture, he talks mostly about cats and the Navy. Easy A, if you can handle very bad jokes. Massive waste of time.

I had Dr. Tirado as my Physics I instructor, he always made time for us and took the time to explain the problems.

Very nice professor and frequently funny. HOWEVER, one of the worst lecturers I have ever taken. Class is very disorganized and often confusing. Questions asked about homework or topics will not be answered or will frequently be presented in such a way as to confuse you further. Assignments often posted a day or two before they are due.

I created an account here just to say that Dr. Tirado is possibly the worst physics lecturer that I've ever had. His lectures are impossible to follow. If you're taking this class (physics one), you will need to teach yourself everything and skip the lectures. Which is difficult to say because he seems like an incredibly nice/smart guy.

Love this guy, had lots of fun on the roof looking at distant stars, nebulas and our neighboring planets. We had online labs that counted for a grade. Our final was really easy if you studied and wend by the study guide. I rocked an A for his class!

He is eccentric and very excited about the subject but he really has a tendency to go off topic. He doesn't seem to teach off the textbook at all but that is what the tests go off of. The study guides on quizlet will save your life. I took the cause a friend recommended I would have fun in there and I do, but a lot of material gets glossed over.

There are 13 labs on Blackboard and one final with 25 extra credit questions. The lectures are confusing, disorganized, unplanned, and boring. Sometimes he takes attendance and has in class assignments, but other times he does not. The night portion of the class is just as disorganized and is never set up beforehand.

He's a funny guy who loves what he's doing, but I would not enter the class expecting a clear understanding of astronomy. Cool night activities though.

Lectures do not matter. He rambles about nonsense and then puts material from the textbook on the test. If you have to take this class, be ready to teach yourself. I still did well, but he did not meet my expectations as a professor.
