If you want to write fiction this is the class to take. We wrote 2 stories and really worked on them. She makes lots of comments and talks about the stories. I learned a lot. Class workshops were good too, but rebecca's comments were the best.

Comment:

We only had Ms. Aronson for the first half of the trimester, as she was pregnant and had her baby a month or so after class started. But she was a great professor. Her discussions were always interesting, and she found neat ways to interpret the poems, short stories we studied. She's a fairly easy grader, and very helpful outside of class.

This is a fun class--Aronson knows a lot about poetry and it shows. You will read a lot of poets who are writing now and look at a lot of journals to see where to send. We write every day in class. Take her if you are serious about being a writer!

This is one bad teacher. I got absolutely nothing but stress out of this class. I think it was the biggest waste of time. She is a subjective grader and gives way too many handouts. Take someone else.

I appreciated the comments, and I see the busy work as important. I liked that she brought in professional writers and that she helps with the visiting writers program. It shows how much she cares about her craft, which I respect. Only problem is that I always feel like she's too busy to talk, whether it be about class, writing or other...

DON'T TAKE HER! she enjoys handing out bad/average grades on papers. she pretty much makes you feel like you're stupid when you get your papers back with the comments! she gives A LOT of busy work....gets annoying! she admits she's the "queen" of handouts, and that gets ridiculous also! DON'T TAKE HER!
