No structure and very unorganized. She cares about her students and is very open to meeting for conferences. This class is kind of difficult if you arent creative because she expects creativity without providing many guidelines

DO NOT TAKE. It is a complete joke of a class. You will barely write and when you do you will not get feedback. You will get a progress grade at midterms (which she will not say no matter how many times you ask what it includes) and your final portfolio grade. She has no clear lesson plans, grading scale or schedule. Good luck!

Wonderful! I took this class without every having written any creative pieces and loved it. It doesn't take long to figure out what she likes in the pieces, but she's open to different writing styles. She's sarcastic and open with her students. If you're looking for uptight or formal, you won't find it here. True creative type.

She is an awesome teacher, very outgoing and fun. I don't like the content of the class very much but I do enjoy being in class. READ the books. I struggle making good grades on the tests. She gives short quizzes every once and a while so reading will be worth your while. There are two papers but they are relatively easy. all I can suggest is READ!

Great professor! It is necessary to read and there is alot of it but she is by far one of the best professors in the English department. She is hilarious and makes class a blast. You can do well if you attend class and read. You have 3 tests and two papers which are on great topics. Take her you will not be disappointed.

She is super easy...if you go to class. The only reason I failed was I was really sick and slept through the final. It was the only test of the semester and consisted of questions like "What was your favorite book?" She told us that she didn't like to give tests. She's super chill and funny. I recommend!

Rebecca challenged me to look at my writing in a different way. She's very direct with her feedback, an approach I didn't really appreciate much until I experienced it. If you have an opportunity to take her class definitely do so. I learned a lot and I definitely think I'm a better writer than I was when I started the course. :)

She's extremely honest when reviewing your pieces, which is helpful for you to become a better writer. However, her feelings on your writing really change from day to day, so it's hard to learn what to take seriously and what's just her being in a weird mood. Frustrating sometimes, but the class was fun.

Workshop with Rebecca has been one of the most rewarding experiences I have at in the English Department at UTC. Anyone who is not inspired by her doesn't deserve the spark to begin with.

She is an okay professor. She is really bias with her grading. If she does not like you, then you will not get a good grade. She plays favorites too much. If you do not read all the books, then you will not do well on the quizzes. She is not an easy person to approach if you need help...mainly because she is never in her office!!

Love her. She's the only writing professor at the UTC that I do like. The rest suck. I love her potty mouth. She's friendly. The work can be time consuming but you get to class and it doesn't even matter. She doesn't take herself seriously. She's a gem.

I've taken Rebecca's class so many times, I can no longer sign up for it or even officially audit--yet I continue to show up. That's how amazing Rebecca and her classes are. I have continued to learn and improve my writing, and I know that wouldn't be possible if she wasn't such a strong professor. I'm grateful my univesity has her on staff.

This is my favorite class this semester, and Rebecca is one of my favorite teachers. She is hilarious, and fun to be around. She is honest with students when their work sucks, but also goes above and beyond to make sure students know what to do to improve. I think everyone who is passionate about writing should take this class!
