Comment:

Dont do what I did and take this class! Professor Hooper is not the greatest at all, shes older so her teaching styles are very ancient. She is rude and gets mad if you dont understand what shes is expecting if you even when her directions are very vague. Worst English professor Ive had!

Comment:

Professor Hooper is a very caring person. She can come off as tough teacher but in reality she is just trying to make you a better writer and improve your knowledge. Hooper wants to teach you material that you can take with you outside of the classroom and use in your everyday life. Her feedback on essays is very honest, revising is limitless.

Sweet woman. A TON of papers. You can redo as many times as you want to get a better grade. Papers require research and planning, but she gives a good amount of time to complete. No tests except midterm and final (those are both papers, too). Handwriting is not great, so don't take her if you're dyslexic. Otherwise, she's awesome. Love this prof.

SHE IS AMAZING!! A huge plus to the class is that she lets you revise all your papers as many times as you would like. There are four papers, and she gives students plenty of time to write them. She was my favorite professor and will definitely be missed. Take her, you will not regret it!!!

She was sassy, and gave way too much work! Also, she was very specific on grading! GRAMMAR MATTERS! She wont accept any grammar errors! However, if youre into super in-depth writing, go ahead!

Mrs. Hooper is my favorite English teacher I have ever had. She is blunt, sometimes confusing but put forth a good effort and you will succeed. She gives great feedback if you follow her instructions and do all the assigned work you will become a great writer.

Ms. Hooper is a sweet old lady. Some people don't like her but it's honestly hard to see why. She will give you TONS of handouts, but most of it you won't even use. There will be 4 essays, usually based on historical readings which she enjoys a lot. She lets you REDO ALL ESSAYS. How many professors do that? As many times as you'd like. RECOMMEND!!

She's a great professor. She's very funny. attendance is absolutely mandatory. Her class is mostly essays and if you get good grades you'll definitely pass.

Mrs. Hooper is by far the best English teacher I have ever had. She gives you easy essay topics and multiple chances to revise your essay if you are unsatisfied with your grade. She is a little bit older, so she is older fashion with her teaching ways, but she gives great feedback, and really is not hard of a class.

RECOMMEND!!Easy class! Even tho class is mandatory you can miss once in a while with a great excuse and she'll let you turn things in as excused. She takes one step at a time, gives little homework everyday making sure we're not too loaded. Some essays but not too long. Longest essay she assigned was 5 paragraphs and gave 2 weeks to do. Very sweet.

She was an excellent teacher. Don't expect to skip class and pass, though. She has a sense of humor and loves to laugh with the class. She assigns a lot of essays, and requires you to do a lot of reading. I am no doubt a much better writer because of her.

Looking back and comparing the first day of her class to the last day I can honestly say I love this professor. She is very passionate about her career and the English language. She is very knowledgeable and provides amazing feedback on assignments and papers. The reading material is interesting and easy. I would love to take this class again.

Really funny professor and a pretty easy class. Not hard papers or many in generally and you really don't have to read the assignments. There is never really any pop quizzes and if there is you can glance at the reading and pass.

Comment:

Miss Hooper was a joy to have as a professor. You must know MLA formatting to a high degree while taking this class. She seldom gave updates on grades, but you can turn in revisions as many times as you would like to ensure yourself a good grade. You can tell that she loves what she does, and her passion for it will engage you in the course.

Took her for all my English classes. By far best professor I've had in my college career. Every one I've recommend lives her as well. She has an amazing sense of humor

So here's the thing, as much as you actually learn in Mrs. Hooper's class, it doesn't always reflect in your grades. My issue at least was that she never agreed with what I had to say, regardless of the proof I had. So be careful, kiss ass, it'll probably help. Learn to write what SHE wants, or your grade will suffer.

Mrs. Hooper is excellent. Her sense of humor is perfect and she is very considerate of her students. She starts out with basic papers and leads to longer papers which helped me because writing is a weak subject for me . she never made us type more than three pages which is nothing. she is always available to help and she is very understanding.

Mrs. Hooper is an amazing teacher. She assigns a descent amount of work and gives feedback immediately. She introduces the class to amazing pieces of literature. She clarifies assignments and takes the students interest into consideration. She only wants the best for her class and is very dedicated to her work! She allows resubmissions on papers!
