Classic online class. Discussions weekly with no required responses to others 33% of final grade. Calendar laid out with specific dates. Midterm 33% and final 34% each have 6 questions (essay style). Long answers get better grades. Easy A. Doesn't grade till the end, but very easy.

This was the second time I've had Prof. Richard Hill and it was great, again. I enjoy the layout of the class and the instructor's participation. I surprisingly really enjoyed the text book as well. I recommend you take Prof. Hill every chance you get. Do the work, put in the effort, you will get an A. He is a slow grader however, just do the work!

20+ discussions (25%) , 3 exams (75%). Don't like to write much? Don't take class. Discussions need to be long to get good grade as well as exams. You need the book. He won't tell you grades on discussions, only tests. You won't know your grade in class 'til last few days of class. Even so, I learned a lot in his class. Will take him again in fall

Mainly discussion posts. Since Hurricane Harvey happened, he eliminated deadlines for discussion, OMG YAY! Just asked we complete all before class ended. Doesnt grade your posts immediately, still waiting on my grades. Tests are easy. Just make sure you can write long accurate responses youll be fine. Taking him again next semester.

Prof. Hill is very fair. I am finishing up his Ethics in CJ class and this was the semester of Hurricane Harvey. Prof. Hill went above and beyond to ensure his students' success in the class were not compromised due to the massive flooding in the Houston area. Prof. Hill expects class participation and will challenge your discussions. Great Prof!

The course consist of discussion posts and a couple of exams. It's not a very time consuming course and runs true to the syllabus. The downside of the course is that everything is due in the middle of the day, 12pm. Also, you don't know where you stand in the course because there are no grades posted throughout the semester. Would take him again!

This professor graded the class off of discussions and two exams, so you don't know what your grade is throughout the entire semester. This professor is awful and would not recommend to take him at all. He wanted the class to be discussion based which meant way to many discussion questions and not enough time to respond.

Syllabus is straight ad to the point. No surprises on work load. 1 Midterm / 1 Final - both are opened responses based on textbook and personal opinion. Handful of discussions but not hard at all. No minimal word count. He provides videos and outside reading material. Quick to respond. I've taken him 4 times already for other CJ classes. he's great

Horrible professor. You basically teach yourself through reading. Refuses to grade anything until the end of the semester, doesn't give you grades on anything to see how you're doing. 3 tests and discussions. Doesn't communicate at all throughout the semester!

20 discussions, some questions taken form the book and others he provided the reading material which were not long. 3 open ended response exams that require the book 6-8 question long. Downside: doesn't post grades throughout the semester, not great at giving feedback so you won't know where you stand. VERY EASY CLASS! DEFINATELY TAKE HIM!

I am not sure how to rate this professor, it is the end of the semester and I still have no idea what I have as far as a grade. The topic itself is very interesting, three exams and a discussion forum. Be sure to check the calendar as he has things posted and they are due by 12pm, he gives very little feedback so uncertain on what I needed to fix.

Professor Hill is an amazing professor and wants his students to succeed. He has discussion questions as homework, provides a calendar of when each assignment is due, 2 tests and a final. He gives you a review for the tests and you will pass if you answer the discussions / test questions thoroughly. Do the work and you will get an A like I did.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER! DOES NOT GIVE YOU GRADES BACK UNTIL THE LAST DAY! I PUT IN 110% EFFORT IN THIS COURSE AND WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH MY GRADE! I EMAILED HIM TO SEE WHY I SCORED SO LOW AND DID NOT EVEN BOTHER REPLYING BACK. WOULD NOT TAKE HIM EVER AGAIN! HE GIVES YOU 3 TESTS "ESSAY STYLE" & EXPECTS YOU TO WRITE A BOOK FOR EVERY QUESTION HE ASKED!!

This class was not very time consuming!! There's no no weekly quizzes or projects. There's a good amount of discussions however they're easy and you can take them at your own pace. There are only 3 test where you'll have unlimited time to complete. There's usually no more than 10 critical thinking questions for the test. Good class to take!

He will give out 26 discussions that have no word limit and are easy, a test which is in essay form and a final which is a in essay form. You must read in order to complete the discussions and the test. I will warn y'all, he is a tough grader and he waits until the end of the semester to grade everyone's stuff which is the only downside to him.

I enjoyed Mr. Hill's class. Those who complain about "subjective" grading need to realize that ETHICS is a "subjective" subject-what constitutes good or bad conduct based on values and moral judgments, not facts. If you want to make an A apply your critical thinking skills, put some effort into your answers, and backup your arguments.

Mr. Hill is an awesome teacher. The students who complain about his overly "subjective" grading most likely aren't putting enough effort into their essays. He gives you the questions 1 week before the test so it's not like you don't have enough time to prepare. It's not that difficult to do well in his class, but you can't expect an A for nothing.

Easy! Discussions once or twice a week, just make sure you right at least a page with references. Midterm and Final are essay questions, make sure you right a paper for each question and you will make A!! no major assignments.
