Buehler? Buehler? I had and have no interest in economics. But miraculously, the guy is able to create an inkling of interest for the sole purpose of killing it. Absolutely mind-numbing.

Incredibly boring. Hard to understand, and he talked about the most irrelevant and random things during lectures. I went to maybe half the lectures and half the sections (TA didn't speak English), did all the textbook reading/psets on my own, did the extra credit, and got an A.

I was INTERESTED in economics and Schuler was boring as heck. Rambled on and on in class, was totally unhelpful, and my TA didn't speak English. There was one upside, though. I'm now in intermediate micro and am far better prepared than kids who had other 101 professors and got higher grades. But still, he's as dull as they get.

Lectures were the biggest waste of time. I stopped going after the 2nd week. Also, there is no real apparent coordination between the TAs and the professor (regarding grading and tests) so you really have no way of knowing what to prep for on the tests. Just read the textbook, but if you can avoid it, dont take this.

stopped going to lecture after 2-3 classes, as i was influenced by the comments on this site and my own observations. he puts his slides/transperancies on blackboard, too. read the econ book, which is pretty good, and go to section. the exams are similar to the psets, but with less numbers.

Just a terrible teacher. Goes way above what an intro economics class should cover. I mean Stakelberg equilibrium? Come on.

Extremely boring and didn't even seem to care that no one went to the class. Often taught to no more than 30 people out of 300. One time said, "Pizza in your pocket is a sticky situation" and I never returned to class after that. O'Doyle Rules

Easy class. Just go to and stay awake at the lectures and you'll see how concise and test-material-oriented they are. Otherwise, just use the book, the sections, and econ 001 as supplements in case you're struggling with the info.

Schuler is a nice guy but his lectures are not helpful at all towards the material covered on quizzes, besides a few confusing graphs. The TAs are inaccessible and barely speak English - get Wissink!!
