Comment:

Pretty easy class. Grade based on 4 p easy tests (all MC), 2 papers on personal experiences, 1 book analysis, 1 presentation on a personal experience, and 10 random in-class assignments for attendance. Honestly one of the easiest classes I've had at UK as long as you attend class. Dr. Smith was also very funny and the class had valuable content.

Comment:

Richard Smith was so much fun to have as a professor and was always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everyone understood the lesson. He would often begin tests taking by making sure everyone understood each question. His tests were fairly easy as long as you paid attention in class. I would definitely take any class he teaches again.

Everything is extremely easy. Easy grader. You just have to put a basic amount of effort into things. No textbook, only 4-5 pg psych analysis on a short autobiography of your choice. He tells you not to take notes bc not necessary. Exams 30 multiple choice questions. Got A on 1st one with no studying, just going to class. 1 presentation, 2-4 mins.

Comment:

Super nice guy! Very knowledgeable. He offered to write letters of recommendation for everyone in the class. He's a great professor who is extremely helpful. Highly recommended. However, he does make an awful lot of bad puns, if you can deal with that you will love him!

What a great professor! His knowledge and passion for social psych is obvious.His stories, humor, and duke fandom (Uk too), make for an entertaining class. The tests reflect his notes/study guide well; they're definitely fair. Take this class!

I know maxed out positive reviews seem fake. This professor was definitely clear and interesting which made his class easy. Show up to class every day, take good notes and study directly from the study guide he passes out prior to exams. You'll do just fine. He does ask exam questions about videos he plays in class, so show up to class. Easy A.

Dr. Smith is really nice.The only bad thing I would say is that he tries to make the class a lot harder than most 300 level psychology courses I have taken.He has you write a book review, take three multiple choice exams, and he takes attendance.He randomly has in-class assignments.His material is a little dated too.Not my favorite.Avoid if can.

I had Dr. Smith a while back for a night class but he was great! Very informative and I thought his stories and videos were interesting and related to the material being discussed. I would definitely recommend!

You can tell he is enthusiastic about teaching students his field of study. He often goes on tangents & tells stories that are seemingly pointless, but he tries to provide breaks from typical lecture by doing this. Also uses videos. Lecture notes are just as important as material from the book in regard to exams. In-class assignments boost grades.

Dr. smith is a very nice guy that loves psychology. He will often use videos or family stories to break up the note taking. His lecture can become boring and confusing when he skips slides but the class is overall still good and not to hard.

Dr. Smith is a great teacher. He's a little shy at first but once he gets to know you he's a great guy to talk to. His movie knowledge is unbelievable, I could talk forever about film with him. His class wasn't very difficult and I learned a lot in it. It didn't hurt that his subject was fun either.

Nice guy, boring class. He really tries to make the class interesting but it ends up being a waste of time. The exams did not clearly reflect lectures or readings. Three multiple choice exams so not too bad, but exams are worded very vague.
