Squires is such a kind and passionate professor. You can truly see that he loves what he does. When he speaks about the subject, you can hear his enthusiasm. Such an adorable man. Don't purchase the $100 book, he tells you not to buy it. Purchase the other reader that he wrote. 1 midterm and 1 final. Easy class.

Dr. Squires was a great teacher. He gives great extra credit, that's fun too. He grades based off of the exams, and they're easy if you study and listen to the hints he gives you in class. He provides with all the notes and study guides, but showing up is really helpful.

Geology is not a very interesting subject for me but Prof. Squires definitely tries to make it fun. His jokes are just adorable and it's hard not to pay attention to him. He has three midterms and a final. Not bad because he has a study guide for each. I recommend him.

Squires is hands down one of the best that I've ever had at CSUN. I've never had a professor so passionate about the subject that they're teaching as much as he is about Geology. & that's how it should be because who would wanna learn from someone who isn't even enthusiastic about what they're teaching? TAKE HIM! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

Favorite class this semester! I thought a geology class would be boring but this class is amazingly interesting. You get to learn about evolution and dinosaurs not just rocks. 4 exams, easy if you study his notes and study guide. Several extra credit opportunities. Great professor! Most recommend!!!

No real textbook required - just a 90 pg packet that he made, which has all the information you will need for the tests. The packet makes it unnecessary to go to class, but the lectures are entertaining so you might want to. Brings in fossils to pass around & sometimes shows videos. 4 exams, no homework, and lots of extra credit available. Easy A.

I took Prof. Squires for Geol 106 LRS and it was a real easy class. you dont need a textbook, you just have to buy this packet he had made for the class. Hes real nice and gives out study guides for every test. just learn everything on the study guide and you'll get an A on your tests.

everything in the exams are everything is has handed out to you and his lectures, so it is fair. no homework, no need for the book. he's a really good professor and is completely kind and understanding. i admit i ended up with a C because i NEVER studied, SO STUDY!!!

I took him for paleo. The class was kind of interesting, but there was way too much to cover. I really like him as a professor. We went on a field trip as well. Do not get the book at all. Not worth it. All test questions are from lecture/notes. He gives you a lot of hand outs. You must study for this class to get anything better than a C.

He definitely is a cute old man! Class is boring and there is too much subject matter to cover. However, he does try to make the class interesting. He provides study guides but they are vague. There is a lot of extra credit opportunity so even if you fail the exams, you can still get a good grade. I do recommend this professor!

He is great! He's funny, nice, and just the cutest old man ever! The subject is boring but he makes it intersting and his humor helps. He hands out a study guide before EVERY exam and offers several opportunities for extra credit. Exams are a little difficult but most students pass with a C even those students that usually score F's. Take him!!!!!!

He is my favorite teacher this year. He got me even more interested in Geology, and I'm a film major. He gives you hand outs and lets you color them. Sometimes we would talk after class. I was very disappointed when I had to miss one of his classes. His tests are a little hard, but I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Took him for Geol106LRS and he was AWESOME. He takes his own notes and gives everyone a copy, all you have to do is file it in your Geology folder and color in the hand-outs (it's fun!). However, his tests are detailed, so don't just skim through the material, but KNOW IT. Tests are mostly mult. choice, but there are fill-ins too. Offers XC!!

PROF. SQUIRES is awesome. I didn't know what to expect in this class, but I got SO much from it. You don't have to buy the book and he gives you a study guide with everything that will be on the test. He makes this class fun and interesting.

Gives out a thousand handouts throughout the semester. His classes are so interesting and he is extremely passionate about what he teaches. You will have to work to get a good grade but all that means is pay attention in his class. Attendence is not mandatory but if you miss class you will be behind. HIGHLY recommend this professor.
