I absolutely loved Dr. Poor's classes. He brought every painting, drawing, sculpture to life. He was intertextual, interdisciplinary, just so smart and so fascinating to listen to. Of my college experience I cannot think of a better highlight - if you can take one of his higher level courses, even better. Brilliant, inciteful, well-spoken man.

Professor Poor is a hilarious professor. Go to his lectures and take good notes. It will make your life a lot easier studying for exams. Go to his office hours with any questions he is extremely helpful!!! That and he knows everything there is to know about East Asian Art! Great professor and class!

This was a 5000 level college course, and yes it was difficult...but Dr. Poor is a fantastic teacher! I loved the field trips and the stories Dr. Poor tells. I would take a class with him again and think he one of the best profs in ArtH.

Robert Poor is a wonderful teacher who really cares about the art and the artist. This was a complex subject, but Dr. Poor answered emails promptly and was open to meeting students and discussing the class material. The books are helpful, but attending class is crucial because he explains the material in greater detail.

Poor keeps the class interesting the problem is that the learning curve is as steep as a roller coaster. Poor himself is no teddy bear. Talk to the TA about grading issues but I wouldn't go to Porr directly. "Why did you get the grad you got? Because I was kind." Actual quote Unless you're an art history major or love asian culture AVOID THIS CLASS

He's not a bad guy, just boring. I had a hard time understanding his, he didn't annunciate well or something. I found it somewhat difficult but I could tell other kids didn't. If asian art is your thing, by all means, if not, maybe pass this one by.

The subject matter was tough. The trips to the mpls inst of art were interesting, but his manner of deconsructing the story from the artifact which he was good at was not a method that his grad.assist aggreed with.
