Comment:

Excellent lecturer, accessible during office hours, and will explain difficult concepts to you if you do the readings. Altogether pretty manageable if you're willing to sit down for an hour every 2-3 days to keep up with the reading.

Comment:

Literally only two things graded the entire class and thats the two tests he gives which i will always think is absurd. Disliked him at first but in the end i learned to appreciate him big time. Study hard and take the tests seriously cause it can hurt your grade.

Really great instructor, with in depth knowledge of the subject matter. Don't be late all the time like me-that is one thing that will piss him off. Overall a great instructor! His lectures are pretty interesting.

Comment:

One of the most friendly, approachable professors in the PoliSci Dept. Instills a sense of caring about democracy, justice, and critical thinking using classic films like "Twelve Angry Men" and "The Oxbow Incident" as teaching tools. Both about the dangers of rushing to justice. A deep thinker and humanitarian. Expect to be influenced.

Be prepared, you will spend the majority of EVERY lecture watching movies and filling out worksheets, but come test time it will all make sense! Stanley has organized the course in a way that makes it easy to remember important concepts because the films become engrained in your mind. Tests are MC and essay format. He's very kind and intelligent.

I enjoyed Stanley's class this past semester and would take him again. There is not much work assigned that is turned in, however it is important to stay on top of readingtaking notes on the court cases, even if he does not assign a brief to be turned in to him. It makes studying for the tests MUCH easier and faster. There are only 2 exams.

Okay, super easy grader. All assignments are worth 1pt and he gives an extra point on certain days where he doesn't want to be there either. He curves all tests (percentage said D but letter grade was a B). He doesn't take attendance, but you have to go everyday to know if there is anything due next class. Watched a movie in nearly every class.

Very helpful when needed, uses the book every day so you must buy it. Tests aren't easy, but he gives you a great study guide. Definitely makes you work for your grade, which is what should happen in college.

Great professor. I cannot say enough about professor Stanley, he is helpful in office hours, great in discussion and lecture, and cares about helping his students. His classes are by no means easy, but his course-load is fair. I took his 351 and 459 classes and they were two of my favorites while in Chico.

The most difficult and unfair professor in Chico State. He might've been a nice professor prior to the furloughs, but now, he's very bitter and he takes it out on his class/students. There are only 3 exams (so its impossible to get an A or B). Cryptic lectures (no powerpoints) with videos that have nothing to do with exams. DO NOT TAKE HIS COURSES!
