First day of class: This guy is crazy weird. Rest of the year: great. Awesome teacher. Class is a guaranteed A. Gives a free class before every paper so that you can meet with him and he basically grades your paper then so you can perfect it. And he's the funniest professor I have had in a long time. Would recommend him again and again.

Might just be brillaint. School probably doesn't value him. Hated his papers though, no outside sources allowed. With a higher level English course I felt I should be doing some real research. But he is got the be one of the smartest white boys teaching African American lit. around.

Dr. West is one of the most underutilized professors I have ever had. He is realistic, yet demands everything from his students he puts into them. I am an English major at a major teaching university in Virginia. Dr. West helped put me here. His guidance and strict adherence to high standards for students and self inspire. Highly recommended!

when i signed up for this class i signed up for english, no for aborigines and indians 101/102. very hard to pay attention in class. he was very willing to work with you. he was real lade back, almost to lade back. his papers were real hard because the topics were hard to even understand. i dont konw i guess im the onlypersonwho didnt like dr. west
