That was such a boring class! He rarely talks about the subject, and spends at least half of the class talking about his personal life. On top of that, he'll give you extra credit for really dumb stuff like cleaning the board or getting something from the vending machine to him. If you wanna learn something don't take him.

Comment:

Prof. Rostoker is one of the best professors I've ever had. He challenges you to learn through the work he gives. We had about 4 reports that really made us work a lot but it was really worth. Learned a lot. Great sense of humor and helpful.

If you're interested in archaeology, this class rocks. There were 4 papers/projects which were very challenging but not at all impossible. The class was intimate & discussion was encouraged, but it usually ended up as a lecture (albeit an interesting one). Um.. And I think he's sexy as hell.

you buch of crybabies need to go back to high school.Professor Rostoker has a great sence of sarcastic wit and humor and those who say he is boring are obviously not intelligent enough to pick up on it. He is very fair not rude at all, very understanding & his tests are not hard if you pay attention

Very boring teacher! Reads his notes off a piece of paper, I feel like he doesn't understand them! Also, very rude to the class. Will always give you a wise comment when asking a question, never gives a straightforward answer. I wouldn't recommend taking this class.

Boring as hell, but a very very very very easy A. Take notes on what he says and you are good to go. Gives out a review sheet for the midterm and final and spends a lecture going over it. Has the terms that will be on the tests. Didn't even open the textbook. VERY EASY but kind of not so exciting

One thing about professor Rostoker is that people seem to either love him, or hate him. The textbook we had was boring to the point of tears, and his lectures may come across as dry for some people, but his class really isn't hard...if you study, you'll do decently. He gave no homework.

ok..you should really love anthropology/archaeology before taking this class. The material can get boreing, there should be more visual aids than the ones shown. I dont know about you but I would prefer 4 or 5 tests than a do or die midterm and final ,like it is in this class.Speeds thru hislectures

One of the most intelligent professors on campus. He goes a bit fast, but is more than happy to stop and clarify if asked. Very fair, gives extra help. You definitely need to study to do well, but isn't the point of school to challenge yourself and learn new things? I'm opting to have him next term.

Ok first of all who teaches an archaeology class without visual aid? aside from some skulls i was expecting a slideshows or artifacts.class really is not what i expect it to be.rostoker is ok. These QC professors are just "doing their job" and not loving what they do...just listen to rostoker= pass

Wow, this guy was awesome - lectures started out a little boring, but the subject matter is really cool and they picked up. he's a real archaeologist, so he knows what he's talking about. very easy - 100 question multiple choice midterm and final, no hw or anything.

If you've ever felt like killing yourself...take his class first because it will speed the process. Trust me- he is the worst teacher in the world..he's monotone, short, stubby, monotone and MONOTONE!!!
