Speeds through material with little time for questions, everything she writes on the boards comes from a set of notes written over 10 years ago. No individuality. She is very condesending and if you aren't good at trig or calc before starting the class you will not do well. You have a better chance of going straight to Calc with another teacher.

I personally think she cares about her students understanding the material. The way the class is structured is to benefit you getting the most help. Monday and Tuesday you learn new material and Wednesday and Thursday you practice and get help. Friday are tests. As long as you use all the resources and tutoring help there is no reason to not pass

Lectures are boring. Knows the material but doesn't know how to explain it. Messes up a lot when teaching. Hw is online and had step by step instructions. I had to teach myself throughout the course. Her accent isnt hard to understand. Was rude NOT take her class again

I took her online math class but still had to go up to campus and take the tests and final exam. Professor Peterman was really understanding when you talked to her, but you need to work for your grade. It is a lot of busy work, but it helps you understand the material better in my opinion.

This professor knows the material, but cannot teach. Her lectures are useless. If I took this class again I would not go to any lectures and stick to youtube and the book.

I need to take the whole series of calculus, I am certain that I won't be taking it with her. If you want to learn don't choose her, her lectures are boring and unnecessary.

She is terrible. Her lectures are awful, if you don't know the subject already you have to learn it by yourself. She makes you turn in really long and boring homework. I would never take her again, don't do the mistake too.

She makes a lot of mathematical errors during a lecture, which makes it very difficult to understand the new material if you haven't been taught it before. She also makes her students purchase MyMathLab (comp. software) which is the only thing that will teach you math in this course. I wouldn't reccomend her class.

Her lectures are very bad and boring. The overall class is easy, but she is really bad as a professor. You can only learn for the program/book she uses.

Foreign accent makes it difficult to understand her sometimes as she talks relatively fast. She never teaches from the book, only notes written by TA. She flies through material and bounces around from section to section, making it very difficult to follow along in book. I tune out her lectures and just teach myself from the book. No book fail.

Took calculus 1 with her. She seems fairly scatter brained. She says there will be "pop quizzes" throughout the semester. There was never one at all. She says she checks homework for a grade. She doesnt. Unfortunately, I had to teach myself most of the material. Study for this class, dont be lazy and youll pass with an A.

Extremely nice, was always available to help in office hours. Would stay after class to answer and explain questions. Having a poor background in mathalgebra, I found the material very difficult to grasp at first, but she offered much help to succeed. Tough grader. Tests are hard, but if you put in the time and ask questions they can be easy.

If you know your math and don't struggle with any kind of anxiety, then you will be fine. If you need more time on exams and struggle with math and have some special circumstances then NO. Professor Peterman, does not realize there are multiple learning styles and we all do not learn the same way. Good Luck!

Shahla is an amazing professor. I took her my freshman year for college Algebra and she left a positive impression on me. A lot of people gives her grief and tries to antagonize her teaching style, however those people are expecting an easy grade. Shahla gives you the grade you deserve and she is really helpful to all students, no matter what!

Required for my major, I will be going to another prof. Doesn't handle the class at all. If you missed a day then your questions don't matter. Not that she will answer the question you asked anyway. Wasted 4.5 hrs a week in her class and then learned calc 1 on youtube. don't waste your money, you'll get more help from the internet.

If she likes you she REALLY helps you out. To get her to like you you have to talk to her one on one, go to her office hours, pay attention in class. Basically just get her to know you and know you're trying hard.

It's math. It isn't going to be fun. If you don't plan on giving a good effort don't bother. She is extremely helpful and spends a lot of her extra time to help students who are putting forth the effort. Work hard, ask questions and review for tests with her and she will go out of her way to help you succeed. She really cares about her students.

I'm a person who usually does not need much help but when i did she was very respectful and was always willing to help. You can tell she genuinely cares about her students and wants you to do well. You have to do the homework though and show up to class. She does have an accent but i had no trouble understanding her. Great professor.

By far the worst professor I have ever had in college, including TA's. She doesn't explain anything well and she makes mistakes on a daily basis. Students who correct her often get bonus points. I had multiple engineering majors tell me they were going to switch after taking this class. Unless you would like to teach yourself math, don't take her.

Her lecture was terrible. I stopped going to the lecture after the first 2 weeks. I learned everything on "MyMathLab" and when I did go to her lecture I didn't pay attention at all, I hardly understood what she was saying anyway.. I spent the majority of the time on my laptop even though we weren't allow to have them out.. haha!
