HE was such an amazing teacher. He was not the most traditional but thats what made his class fun to me. He relied more on paying attention in class and being able to relate it to the real world rather than spitting the textbook back at him. My high school didn't agree with him but the students throughly enjoyed his class and looked forward to it

Dr. Barnes is an excellent, enthusiastic professor. He has intersecting stories & is the most engaging professor you could hope for. He is a genuine person & offers many ways to relate the subject matter. He doesn't simply follow textbook script, he really makes the language useful & practical.

What a wonderful teacher. I am upset that i didnt take him sooner. he is the best spanish teacher ive ever had.5 yr spanish. he will no longer be with the school though. and they are making a big!!!! mistake

I have taken Dr. Barnes in two Spanish classes now, and I can honestly say the man has changed my entire view about the language. At first I looked at Spanish as a nice addition to my resume, but Professor Barnes has inspired me to keep learning. He is a funny, kind, energetic man (he's 70+) and one of my biggest influences. Thanks Barnesy! : )

Comment:

Hillarious and campy. I had a great time in this class, he makes learning another language fun. Lets you turn in homework at the end of the quarter, which means you don't have to sweat a due date and neglect other classes. Tests are easy if you really use the study guide. I learned alot in this class. TAKE HIM! You won't regret it.

Truly the best prof. I have had in 3 years of college. It is not that he is "easy" or "hard" .. but instead the level of enthusiasm about his subject. Lets face it, if the teacher doesn't want to be there, the student doesn't either. He not only gives a great explanation of the language and its vocab, but also where the word originates.

I have transferred from 3 colleges (sinclair being my second) and I can honestly say Dr. Barnes is my favorite professor. He really has inspired me to not only want to learn the french language, but travel and learn about the culture. He is understanding towards his students needs and realizes, although we are students, we are still human. A++

Barnes is a wonderful professor. I learned more in 6 weeks from him than I have learned in 6 years of taking spanish. He has a very unique individual and has a crazy sense of humor. Barnes makes every class interesting and I always look forward to class. He is my fave professor and I highly recommend him!

He's very interesting and passionate about what he does. He offers plenty of extra credit for tests that you'll be bound to get if you've been paying attention. The tests aren't easy fill-in-the-blank ones, but they're okay. ^_^

This guy is crazy, and excited about what he teaches. In his spare time he works with spanish speaking people, doing various things to help the community. He's my favorite teacher, and all my friends taking spanish told me to get him as a prof... oh, and he gives out a lot of chances for extra credit, which rocks! :)

I took Dr. Barnes for spa 101. If anyone else takes him, do not take many other classes. He tests once every week and a half, and his tests count as a major part of the class. He states that the tests dont count as much of your grade, but they do!
