Professor gyves is such a great professor he's really good at explaining concepts that may be otherwise hard to understand. His exams problems are based off the examples he does in class. Barely any homework, probably 1 or 2 all semester. One of the best maritime has to offer. The only con is he can't write legibly.

Dr. Gyves is a great professor. He knows what he's talking about and gives constant real life examples from all his industry experience. Enthusiastic 8/7 days a week. Definitely taking him again.

Great guy, great class. Tells amazing and RELEVANT stories. Writing is hieroglyphics, and he constantly walks back and forth. Makes the class participate, but never makes you feel stupid. Best teacher I've ever had at Maritime.

He's very straight forward, he will give you everything in the lectures that you will need to pass his tests. His tests are a bit difficult but if you study the Daily Example and the do the rare homework, this class should be an Easy A. Don't mess around though or get lazy because the first test is 25% of you grade, and the second is 35%, Final %40

An absolutely fantastic teacher. Professor Gyves knows the material inside and out and had possibly the most organized notes out of any teacher I have ever had. Enthusiastic and endearing, he cares about the students in the class and I promise you you will understand the material if you go to class. Excellent teacher!
