seems like an okay guy but does not give any info on assignments or test style. often goes off on a rant about irrelevant stuff. the textbook is just a bunch of essays and he doesn't even say what's important. takes up the whole three hours and very boring. probably the worst mhr class i've taken

He is very passionate about the topic but tends to focus too heavily on some things and not enough on others. You NEED to do the readings! Every exam question is directly from the readings. If you understand the main points and go to the lectures you will do well.

I literally never write reviews on professors, but this guy is by far the worst professor. I had him for mhr520 and law529, he made both classes unreasonably hard. The law midterm was open book and fairly easy but he graded it so tough, the class average was a 40%. Do not take him at all costs. A class that could be fun, he makes very complicated

Basically, you have to read A LOT in this class. Tim is pro at teaching this course, but he can go on and on. His exams were easy as long as you as you understood everything he said in class and did your readings. You have to work for your marks. A lot to study but a few materials get tested. Skip class; you will get a low mark. He has few PPTs.

a student with a Major of HR, this class has made me absolutely hate HR & the major itself. the content is SO dry. he does not provide powerpoints that you can study off, therefore all notes & discussion must be taken in class or you will fail. he is an extremely hard marker. this course is by far the worse course ever & HEAVY READING

He's lectures are very boring, if you read the textbook you don't need to go to the lectures. Make your own notes as he does not include much detail on his ppts. He is very slow at responding to emails and usually requires follow up emails. Not very clear about what the assignment. Had better profs, his rating is too high for his quality.

Comment:

Tim made his lectures interesting. Although he always took up the whole 3 hour lecture, he was great at the subject and really got you thinking. He did take a long time to post marks. I had met up with him to discuss an essay topic and he was incredibly helpful and straightforward on what was expected. Would definitely recommend for LAW529.

Amazing Prof! He really does a great job interacting with his students, engaging in discussions. As long as you come to class and do the readings, you can get a great mark in his class. I liked Tim's enthusiasm towards teaching, he made learning about unions and bargaining very fun!

Very informative lectures, not the best at answering questions though. There's one essay which has a pretty open ended topic, but he is a tough grader, and takes very long to put up marks. Midterm and final were fair, have to keep up with readings in both books to do well!

The midterm isn't hard if you actually read the course reader, go over your own notes and the slides. Our average for the midterm was pretty low so he did a major bell curve for us that brought the average from a 50 to like a B- . Readings are crazy in the beginning and get much less later on in the course

He is a good and knowledgeable professor but the way he is teaching the contents can be a bit better by being more enthusiastic. He does explain the content in details of what we need to know for the course. In addition, he tends to mark our assignments a bit late. If you dont read the course reading or come to class, you may find it a bit hard

i took his class based on his ratings. gotta say that i was WRONG. our class average was a 45 for the midterm & he bell curved only 5% . i got a 70% but he wasn't clear on what he expected. avoid him at all costs. avoid this course unless it's mandatory. please don't sign yourself up for unnecessary torture.

Great class! the material is interesting and easy for those who enjoy learning about unions. The prof is fair, midterms are worth a lot (30% and 40%) but if you read the slides and text you'll go great! If you're a girl, you will def be attending class, :))
