Comment:

I think the only thing I really didn't like about this class was how unorganized it was. It just seems like she waits till the class to figure out what to do, with unclear deadlines. But, she gives great feedback and she's a pretty lenient grader. I'm glad I had her class.

Comment:

Lots of writing but she is a really genuine, sweet lady. She really cares about her students and I think she genuinely loves her job. She provides great feedback on papers. There are a bunch of small papers and one big paper. She assigns a ton of readings that you don't really use in class. She specifies the ones you need to know on the 2 exams.

Her classes seem unplanned. Some days it seems like she makes random things up to do in class. She is rude when you do not understand something, but gets frustrated when no one speaks up in class. She tends to her website poorly, and some dates are incorrect. We do a lot of peer review, that is where I get most of my feedback.

She has often told us to print things out and then bring them to class. She has forgotten to collect them a few times and just expected that we have it in on our class website when she posts online that we JUST need to bring a printed copy to class. Attendance is mandatory and she will sometimes get frustrated if you do not understand an assignment

I LOVED HER. The class is very fun and enjoyable, at first I was overwhelmed with all the work she gave us but it really was not that bad. She is amazing, she really cares about every student and you learn so much. Because of this class I am pursing a minor in women's studies. Take it if you need an easy A.

I LOVED her. She went out of her way to help students and talks about topics that relate today. She was always interested in what students had to say and helped to make sure you got a good grade. Make sure you come to class though, and it seems like you have a lot due but half the time you do not even talk about the homework/readings. Easy A.

Prof. Pool is an amazing! Very intelligent, but never speaks condescendingly, helpful, asks if you have questions, (she even answers). She's available when she says she'll be, & grades very fairly. Show up, read the material, follow the schedule A. She literally knows that we procrastinate in writing. I think she made me want to write! I loved her

Super nice professor. Class isn't that organized, which is a little annoying, but I don't mind her. She's very thorough and tries to help every student as much as she possibly can. Just expect to write a lot, obviously.

Professor Poole really loves women's studies and I could tell she knows her stuff. There were no tests, but we had several quizzes and homework assignments. She is a pretty easy grader. Attendance counts as a part of your grade, but it doesn't affect your grade until your 6th absence. You definitely need the book for this class!

Amazing Teacher, Cares about students, Class was boring for the most part but you can make it fun if you have friend in there. Pretty simple class, work was not too difficult. Overall great teacher!

I really disliked this class. The assignments seemed simple but her feedback was always confusing and inconsistent. She doesn't give enough time in between assignments and seems more focused on peer review feedback than anything. One good thing is that she is always willing to talk to you during her office hours, however that probably won't help.

My favorite professor this semester! My writing greatly improved in her class. She offers great feedback and communicates with you outside of class. She really wants her students to succeed and makes sure she shows you how to do so. The portfolio is really not that bad if you make the changes as she edits them.

Professor Pool is the best!! She is so sweet and wants everyone to excel in her class. Her teaching style is very understandable. She cares about every student. She requires you come to class but every class is worth it because she made it so interesting. TAKE HER! She was the best english teacher I've ever had and I genuinely learned a lot!!!

Professor Pool is great! I suck at English and writing papers, and still made an A in the class. She helped me so much over the course. She is also very reasonable and understanding! I definitely recommend her to everyone. (She brings candy to class sometimes as well!) :D

She's brilliant. Wonderful professor who offers a stress-free environment. She's very understanding and gives great criticism. She grades pretty easy, too. The majority of your grade comes from a portfolio at the end of the semester(50%) so don't put that off until the last minute!

I took Pool for 1010 and 1020. Get on her good side and it doesn't matter if you turn the small stuff in. Super easy, gives you tons of time and is easily accessible. Only bad thing is sometimes she's a little vague. Take her if you want an easy A!

She seemed vague at first, but with time you came to appreciate what she meant. Very good at helping you shape your paper and getting the basics of building it down. By the time you write the main paper it will be surprisingly easy due to the groundwork. Lots of reading!

class is not hard at all. i have skipped classes but i still have a good grade. she gives ALOT of time to do every assignment and is very understanding. the only thing i didn't like is that she has favorites.
