Comment:
This class was a breeze. While a bit dull at times, Professor Lindsey makes his expectations really clear from the start. The only grades came from exams, which were in 3 parts. He gives you tons of choices on them so you can choose what you're good at and write about that. Really nice guy, pretty relaxed grading. Easy A as long as you show up.

Professor Lindsey is a nice guy and he is really understanding and cares for his students. His lectures are sometimes a bit boring but you are willing to listen, you will learn a lot of interesting things. Tests are okay, it will be easy if you read the book or listen carefully in class, study the images and keywords are the most important things.

Going to class never feels like a chore. Makes the syllabus with you in class. I occasionally skip class on the reg but as long as you show up most of the time he either doesn't notice or gives you a pass. He hated taking tests as a kid so his tests are made for you to succeed. Literally just show up and let him ramble at youA+ every semester.

Lectures are boring, sometimes interesting. He really knows his stuff though. Overall the class was okay. Easy because of extra credit

A very good professor. His lecture is a bit boring but if u listen him carefully, u will find some stories he tells are very interesting. I never took notes from the lecture but just enjoy listening the stories. The tests are OK, strange format but acceptable. Spend 6 hours on reviewing key words and PPT, u will easily pass the class and get an A.

His exams have a weird format, but he's very helpful and the class is easy if you study the lecture notes he puts online and do all of his extra credit. One of the easiest humanities classes at KU and you will learn something new.

If you go to lecture and take decent notes, this class is fairly easy. Dr. Lindsey is slightly confusing at times, but he is super nice. You need to actually study for the tests. They are a bit difficult, but 20 or more of the points on the test count as extra credit.

He is very sweet, passionate, and really knows his stuff! I loved the way he took confusing foreign concepts and compared them to American ways to help the class understand them. Tests are a bit difficult, but he has review sessions that are very helpful!

He's a very nice man. His class is difficult but if you show up and take notes you will be fine. You will struggle if you dont come to class because the tests are pretty difficult. He uses an odd format for exams but all of the questions are straight from lecture. Honestly, just talk to him he's very nice.

Awful. I'm taking his class now and I'm completely lost and I don't even care. He doesn't follow any kind of intelligent format for the class, like a time line. I haven't taken an exam yet, but if they weren't take home, I would have dropped this class weeks ago. It's so worthless, I'm learning nothing. Don't take Religions in Japan!

This class is really easy if you show up and pay attention during lectures. Grades are based on 3 tests, but there is a lot of extra credit, so it's not bad. He gets really nervous at times causing him to stutter, shake, and turn really red. The course material is interesting, but he's not the best at carrying it into his lectures. Easy GenEd.

He is so boring. And his tests are IMPOSSIBLE! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!! His tests are the hardest thing ever, literally the hardest test I've ever taken in my life.. The format is matching, short essay, multiple choice with two answers for each, fill in the blank, and identifying images and pictures. I repeat, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

Worst religion teacher I have ever had. Unclear on expectations, and doesn't usually go over all material on tests. Mumbles and goes on tangents when lecturing making it hard to keep track of what he wants you to know. Seating charts and attendance are mandatory.Don't bother sending email questions about test the TA won't give you a straight answer

Worst religion teacher I have had. He tends to divert from lecture and drones on about irrelevant things. Unclear about what he expects you to know. He will dock points from a test if the class does "too well" in his opinion, so don't be surprised if he takes off 15-20 points just because he feels like it.He somehow managed to make religion boring!

go to class and pay attention and you'll get an A. he almost always lectures with either his eyes closed or while looking at his shoes. if you have a question don't bother to raise you're hand because he won't look at you. he is very helpful and nice outside of class. he seems bitter/jaded towards his field of study, but he's quite knowledgeable.

Took him for East Religions. He makes his own notes for the lectures. The textbook just goes into further detail about the lecture but their version won't be on the test. You have to read the excerpts/passages. He goes over them and explains in class but you write your own notes over them. Exerpts/passages are a big part of the test.

He is really a nice guy, warm heart and happy to help you. However, multiple choice has 2 answers need to circle, short answers are from the notes. The first section confused most people, but the second and third part will be easier. He does give curve at times. I dropped after taking the first exam, now I'm regretted. My advice: talk with him!

Impressive teaching style and very helpful with student questions. Many test questions come from the lectures, and address concepts, not just memorization, so web-surfing in his class and internet outline banks are not helpful. Attendance and note-taking are critical to doing well. Overall -- kind professor, respects students, excellent class.

He is very into what he teaches. Must go to class (assigned seating and attendance). His tests are difficult and notes can be confusing. He does put up studyguides on a certain website but students have to buy them! :(
