Duff is a fantastic professor. Of course, I had him for a class outside of MOME, so it was not as intense. He cares for his students, and encourages them to do their best on each assignment. He's funny, and knows how to keep a class lively even when the content is fairly dry.

Comment:

He goes by Duff and is one of my favorite professors. He taught an enjoyable class and it wasn't too hard (which is nice since I'm in film). He's funny and seems to genuinely care about you. While his class is easy, you can make it more difficult if you'd like. It's really about what you want. He's a really nice guy though, definitely suggest.

This was one of the first classes I took at SCAD, and I took it during Rising Star. I had little knowledge of Photoshop or Illustrator, and Duff really helped to make it clear. He gives plenty of feedback and made constant checks around the room to see how you were doing/if you needed help.

Duff is a sweetheart. He taught bits and pieces of Photoshop, Illustrator and a bit of dreamworks, but we used Wix for the website. He is very personable and easy to approach. All around nice and easy class.

Duff is very laid back. His CMPA 100 class is the easiest I've taken here yet. Most of class time is used as project/homework time, with maybe 3 classes set out for teaching software. If you show up to class you will never have homework. He lets you use Wix to create your website, so no need to learn how to make one from scratch. Highly recommended

Duff sometimes teach CMPA 100 if there's a need of extra class. His CMPA class is an easy A class. Just be there and follow his instructions, you will be good. He taught Photoshop, Illustrator, and a bit of Dreamweaver and Fireworks for the website. Except Illustrator project, they don't require much work. He also loves to chat and get to know you.

Favorite teacher at SCAD. Amazing friend and professor. Don't take advantage of how nice he is because he's really a qualified teacher and knows what he is talking about. Must take! Super easy going. Fun class.

Duff is a really nice and relaxed professor which is nice but sometimes I wished for a little more clarity in assignments and lectures. He can be a little stubborn when it comes to concepts. You will enjoy the class more if you take everything he says with a grain of salt but ultimately go your own way if you're passionate about your concept.

I have a torn thought for between liking and loathing him. To be fair he knows his stuff with concepts but when it comes with technicality you are on your own. I am appreciative for having him as a teacher and does good work with his show. However I do have a problem with selective favoritism with students.

a community setting that encourages conversation though overlooks detail. his strength lies in a friendship as a peer designer not a definitive teacher. take his class as an educational buffer however he does have a tendency to press his opinion on design. experimentation. often solutions are predictable. nice but too easy for upper level classes

Though he is not a techie type of person, Duff knows about design and concepts. However if you are unaware of the technicalities for your concept design just wait until you skill yourself and then progress in taking his course. By all means he will help you sharpen your design...

I've had Duff for two classes now and I can say without a doubt that he is hands down one of the best professors I've ever had. The classes are relaxed and fun, but he trusts you'll do work outside of class, so each class meeting is more of a time to chill and get inspired from other's work than to be bored by lectures and whatnot. Amazing class.
