A great professor in all respects! Teaches extremely well! Projects are the best part, you really learn a lot! Midterm and final exams + projects, participation, and not being lazy makes up your grade! Taking his classes is one of the best experiences at Marist!

Alan is by far one of the best professors at Marist. Had for CMPT 220 as well. He's intelligent, witty, and good at being available for office hours responding to emails. Paying attention in class and showing up are key; he just wants you to show that you care and that you're listening in class. He usually allows a 1 page study sheet for tests.

Alan is by far the best at Marist College. He wants his students to go on and succeed not only in the classroom, but also outside of school. Fantastic professor inside and outside the classroom. He helped me graduate early and pursue my dream career, which was not "ordinary" to say the least. But he was there every step of the way.

Best CS professor I've taken at Marist. Smart, funny, and is always prepared for classes. Make an effort to put the work in and you will really learn. How it has taken 2 years to finally get a good CS professor boggles my mind

An excellent, intelligent, funny, helpful professor who cares more about your learning and professional development than a letter grade. Give him respect, put your hard work into the projects and you will do very well and learn a lot. Workload can be high with all of the projects, but it's worth it. One of, if not, the best professor at Marist.

Alan's operating systems class is incredible, certainly not easy, but well worth all of the hard work. The semester consists of a lot of hard work, sweat, and maybe even tears, but you come out of it a more intelligent and more effective software developer.

Alan's a very intelligent guy and CAN BE an excellent teacher. When Alan codes on the overhead it can be hard to understand/keep up with but when he gets on the board and really starts teaching something he's one of the best. He cares a lot about his students and is always willing to help.

As is sometimes the case I came into the class knowing nothing about the subject matter. By the midterm I was struggling but Alan sat down with me and helped me figure out where I went wrong. The final project was difficult but incredibly rewarding and cool. High recommended for any class, you will learn a lot and have a blast. Smart and great!

Alan is a very interesting professor. He certainly makes class enjoyable. You do a lot of cool and fun stuff, but he's not the most effective teacher. His lectures tend to go off topic and he's usually very vague. Even when I went to office hours to ask questions he told me to Google a bunch of stuff... Not very reliable, accurate or helpful.

Too hard projects. A useless professor. He made us do OS in java script and gave a very low grade. Didn't even say a single mistake during whole semester and in the end gave a low grade. His exams are like school exams. "What is operating System types?" His love for javascript made us do impossible Build multi thread OS in javascript.

Alan is the man. He makes class fun, but you still learn a lot. He teaches you stuff then does an example himself so you see how to implement stuff. He is not a picky grader watsoever and he is easy on his CS1 students while still teaching them a lot. We had a few test and a final project that we worked on throughout the semester. Take him!!!

Alan is hands-down my favorite professor on campus. This class will seem fun at the start and will get harder, but nothing is so over-the-top that you won't understand it. Overall you learn a lot of practical web design that you will enjoy using on your own too.

Laboseur was a hard teacher for me. I learned a lot but he gives written tests that are based off things he talks about. He does not give any notes at all. Expects you to take notes on things he says only. Would have been helpful to know before hand so I was actually taking notes while he talked.

Best CS teacher in the school! “Edutainment” is the best way to describe his classes; laugh a lot, learn a lot. Tests are easy, projects are brutal, but you will learn much from them. Easy grader and always willing to help you understand any questions you have. You owe it to yourself to take one of his classes. GO NOW!
